This AC Cobra from Backdraft Racing has been sprayed in British racing green and has white racing stripes and tan leather interior. The Backdraft Cobra has more leg room than any I have ever been in, at 6'2" I fit comfortably. The AC car company in the U.K. produced a model named the Ace, then along comes Carroll Shelby who took a look at the tiny car and thought, that needs a V8! So, a Ford 260 was shoved under the hood, then a 289, then a big block 390 and finally a 427 cubic inch FE side oiler. Now let's talk about the mechanics! This Iconic edition Backdraft Cobra has the same size engine in it, measuring out at 427 cubic inches of modern muscle pushing about 420 horsepower. The components under the bonnet are, a Weiand stealth intake topped with a Holley double pumping four barrel. The fires are lite with an MSD distributor and coil. The exhaust takes the short trip from the heads to the tip through stainless steel headers that push the exhaust through the side pipes, this combo makes the most glorious noise! Backing this potent power plant is Quick time bell housing and a T5 manual transmission. A Ford 8.8 rear axle has been sacrificed to make a fully independent rear suspension. Disc brakes on all four corners, leather interior, huge Nitto tires, I have to say it would be hard to make this car any better. With just under 200 miles, that's two hundred miles this car is ready to hit the open road on a sunny day and turn up the heat!
