Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is pleased to present this awesome 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. Covered in its factory bright blue poly color, the whole idea behind this restoration was "keep it numbers matching but give it the power it should have had". Bumbera's Performance was tapped to handle the drivetrain restoration, and they did a super job. Starting with the original numbers-matching 440 CID V8 block and 727 TorqueFlite transmission, the powertrain was thoroughly redone and enhanced to give it the tire-smoking gutsiness that this beast was expected to deliver when one thinks of any Dodge 440-powered car! New heads were installed, but the block and innards were thoroughly inspected and reworked to provide serious power to the wheels. The 727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission also received the same attention to detail, receiving a complete rebuild and newer, stronger components. All told, the rebuilt drive train has only about 500 miles on it, so you've got plenty of life to look forward to! In addition, the brakes and steering were enhanced with new hoses and reservoirs, and the pump was refurbished. A set of 18" Boss Motorsports aluminum wheels with black centers and polished aluminum lips give a more modern look and subtract weight from the factory steel wheels. Nitto 555 performance radials (245/45/ZR18 up front, 275/40ZR18 out back) skin the rims and provide tons of grip. Inside, about the only thing that's not original (or original style) is the new digital dash (selected to replace the original gauge set, which had seen some connector corrosion over the years). This digital driver info system gives ample information to the driver and looks cool while doing so. A new exhaust system replaces the factory original and adds a more muscular sound in the process. While this is a factory air car, the original componentry was left largely intact, and can be retrofitted by its new owner to R134a coolant. Additional features and options on this 1970 Dodge Charger R/T include Air Conditioning (not blowing cold), Aluminum Wheels, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Spare Tire and Jack, and Vinyl Interior. Don't miss this chance to get yourself some MOPAR muscle! About Dodge
Dodge Brothers Company, founded by Horace and John Dodge in 1900, initially produced components for car manufacturers. In 1914 they stepped into car manufacturing when introducing four-cylinder Dodge Model 30 with all-steel body and 12v electric system.

By 1920 Dodge had become the second biggest car manufacturer in the USA, unfortunately the same year both of the brothers died, the company in turn to was sold to Chrysler Corporation in 1928. Dodge found a niche Chrysler Corporation lineup above low-priced Plymouth and medium-priced DeSoto, but somewhat below the top-of-the-line Chrysler
