For sale in our Detroit Showroom is this very unique 1947 Dodge WD-21 truck. Since the beginning of Dodge they have offered light truck models, for the first few years the trucks were built on the platforms of their existing vehicles but soon were produced on their own chassis with their own body designs. Light and medium duty models were only available at first, then a heavy duty lineup was added during the 1930’s and 1940’s. This 1947 Dodge is a medium duty truck produced on the 133 inch wheelbase platform with a very dependable drivetrain starting up front with the 230 cubic inch inline 6 engine. These inline 6 cylinders might not have a ton of horse power, but they were definitely built to last. Following up the engine is the 3 – speed manual transmission that shifts flawlessly and makes this WD-21 a real fun truck to drive. This 1947 Dodge has been restored even though there is just 45,309 actual miles on the truck. The restoration has given the truck a stunning look with the fresh coat of Blue and Black paint and the wood panel bed were given extra care with the finish to make the wood look as if it were still back in the 1940’s. With such low mileage this truck runs and drives beautifully and with nothing more than just regular maintenance will remain this way for many years to come.
