Fiat 750 Alger – Le Cap (1954) – 1 of 5 remaining – Mille Miglia 1954

General description : This Moretti 750 is a rare car in itself, but it is even more so if you know its history, rather out of the ordinary. For a start, this car was the protagonist of the 1954 Turin Car Show, where it was displayed at the Moretti stand.Purchased by the first owner, it was driven for only four years because the owner passed away, the car has therefore remained unused under a canopy of a villa in Como, Italy; it is said that the heirs at the time planned of making extensions to the house and it is said that our protagonist, hidden under a cloth, was unintentionally bricked up and never used for 50 yearsThis is said to be 1 of 5 pre-series cars: compared to the later cars, which were produced in a batch of just 200 units, this version is different because of some details that only the experts of this model can notice, including a wider front grill with a different frieze, aluminum steering box, flat taillights, 4 holes rims instead of 5 and an engine producing 30 hp compared to 27 hp of later cars.DUE TO BREXIT THERE IS THE RISK OF HAVING TO PAY A CLASSIC CAR TAX BETWEEN 5-12% DEPENDING ON THE COUNTRY FOR CARS UK/EU OR EU/UK – PLEASE GET IN TOUCH TO DISCUSS OPTIONS TO REDUCE THIS RISK… THIS CAR IS LOCATED IN ITALY and sold on behalf of the Italian owner. Initial communication organised by us with direct contact to the owner once serious interest is confirmed. We can assist with the transport. The small print in large – always happy to answer any questions you may have. All offers are, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, non-binding and subject to confirmation and to prior sale. All information given is based on the best knowledge and the seller’s information. About Fiat
Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (FIAT to you and I) was founded by Giovanni Agnelli in 1899. Their first car 3 ½ CV had a strong resembledence to contemporary Benz, only 25 examples were built. By 1910 Fiat had established itself as Italia's biggest car manufacturer and expanded to the US, where a new plant was built in Poughkeepsie, NY.

At that time Fiat cars were big and luxurious barges for the wealthy or barking mad racing cars like S76 , The beast of Turin, with its 290HP 28.5-liter, four-cylinder engine.

However, today Fiat is better reknown for its small symphatic peoples carriers, Topolino, 500 "Cinquecento" and 600.

What ever your favorite Fiat is, you'll find it for sale here at www.classicdigest.com
