General description : This 1936 Ford 5 Window has lived its life in Texas, making for a great rust free original body. The fenders are Wescott fiberglass and the running boards are Drake steel. It is covered in dark slate gray PPG 2 stage paint and exterior trim is completely new.  It has new floors throughout and the body has been meticulously worked.  The roof has received a California chop by lowering it 1.5 inches in front and none in the rear. The running boards and hood have been stretched 1 inch. Additionally, the body has been channeled 1 inch. The combination of these modifications gives the car a great stance and look. The headlights are modified Guide 472 housings with 7 inch halogen lamps.  And the rear taillights are from a 37 Ford.  All the glass is new smoked grey tint (not film) and features Specialty Power Window kits. It has a new chrome windshield frame as well as new chrome side molding.  The hood is equipped with Dan Fink latch system that allows both sides to be opened.  The doors feature bear claw latches and with safety pin latches.  The engine compartment is very clean and features a Bitchin 5 inch setback firewall.   The gas filler is located behind the license plate frame that has been installed upside down to insure it does not rattle. The 350 Chevrolet engine was built professionally by Barrett Engines out of Oklahoma City with all the right parts.  It has an Edelbrock carburetor and manifold to insure a smooth running motor. The alternator and AC compressor are installed using Allen Grove brackets. It has a MSD HEI ignition system and Sanderson ceramic coated headers with 2.5 inch exhaust run all the way out the back of the car. The engine is kept running cool by a mechanical fan and a Walker Z radiator. You won't find a bunch of billet to have to polish and the valve covers have been powder coated black to make it easy to keep a clean looking motor. The engine is connected to a new Turbo 350 built by Phoenix Transmissions which shifts smooth and will never let you down.  The power is then put to the road through a 9 inch Ford rear end equipped with 3.08 gears.  This gear ratio gives plenty of space to open up and roar down the highway with no problem, making this street rod perfect for rod runs nation wide. It rides on 5 spoke Halibrand wheels with new Michelin tires. Stopping is handled by power assisted front disc brakes and 11 inch rear drums with an ECI Master cylinder. The suspension has been completely rebuilt with the best.  The Heidts Mustang II front end with full tubular A-Arms coupled with adjustable coil over shocks gives a smooth ride down the road.  It has a Flaming River Rack & Pinion with a close ratio gear box to make the manual steering very easy. The rear suspension is handled by a Chassis Engineering parallel leaf spring kit with cross member and a custom built torsion bar. The custom interior is done in Oxblood high grade real leather and suede.  The Glide seat is incredibly comfortable and allows plenty of room. Plus there is enough storage room behind the seat for a couple of small suitcases for overnight trips. A custom console is made with cup holders (a feature often left out of street rods).  The new stereo is mounted behind the seat and is easily controlled by a remote control.  It also includes the plug so you can connect your phone and listen to your favorite tunes.   Other nice features include an Ididit steering column, a 40s style steering wheel, a Vintage Air AC/heat unit, Gennie shifter, Bob Drake interior hardware, So Cal switches and a complete Painless wiring system.  You will also find a nice set of one off Classic Instrument gauges with a Moon tachometer.  The entire interior has received a coating of Lizard Skin heat/sound barrier in additional to Dynamat throughout to provide a nice quite ride. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
