Ford 5-Window Coupe 1936

General description : For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our Houston showroom is this all metal Viper Yellow 1936 Ford 5-window Coupe. This road-ready Ford 5-window coupe was built for both show and go, so this runner of a '36 Ford has just about everything you could ever want in a hot rod. Under the hood is a Blueprint Engines 355 CID small block Chevy V8. This engine comes with a 30 month/50,000 mile warranty from Blueprint Engines. Sitting atop the engine is a brand-new carburetor & aluminum intake, backed by a new GM 700R4 4-speed automatic trans with a new 2200 RPM stall converter that spins a 3.42:1 Eaton Posi rear end, giving it both low-end acceleration capability and highway cruisin' friendly RPM on the freeway. Fire up the 355 and you'll discover a nice deep rumble, enhanced by the ceramic coated headers and full 2.5" dual exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers. Grab the custom billet column shift lever, pull it down into drive, mash the go-pedal, and get catapaulted into the glory days of street rods and custom cruisers. You'll love driving the car, because it handles and steers like a modern car - equipped with a FatMan front end with rack and pinion steering and power front disc brakes, you'll feel totally in control wherever you go. When you pull into the drive-in burger shack, you'll get tons of attention when you flip the engine covers up - chrome and polished billet accessories abound; and the custom-plumbed look of the R134A Vintage A/C will grab eyeballs, too. When onlookers sidle over to check out the rest of the car (and they will), they'll be equally impressed to see the Billet Specialties wheels wrapped with performance radial tires, and when they check out the super-custom interior, they'll see that this car is made to be driven, and comfortably! Inside is a custom dark brown and tan motif. The seats have perforated tan artificial leather center inserts, surrounded by a rich chocolate brown artificial leather. There is a cool custom center console housing the dual DIN AM/FM/CD radio, and the controls for the Vintage A/C; plus, some brushed aluminum drink holders are nicely integrated into the console base. Options on this 1936 Ford 5-window Coupe include Remote Power Windows, Door Poppers,Billet Power Trunk, A/C, AM/FM/CD, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, Keyless Entry, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires, and Aluminum Wheels. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
