Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 4X4 5.0 Liter V8 1989

General description : Description
Those boxy/beefy F-150s you know are now the next ones up to start appreciating in the classic market. After all this is where definitive style meets desirable features like a fuel-injected V8 and an overdrive transmission. So it's great to find this 1989 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat that's a vintage and capable 4x4.
This generation of pickup knows how to deliver the right kind of style. The lines are crisp and confident, and a quality respray of the factory-correct white later in life makes sure to show that off with a good gloss. This is a premium XLT Lariat, and it lives up to that feeling with cool details. For example, the full-length red pinstripe also coordinates with the red trim in the wheels and the rear 4x4 graphic for a thoughtful look. But what really makes this classic appealing is that it still shows off it has a ready-to-work appearance and attitude. There's a durable rubber floor mat on the bed floor and inner tailgate, and the bed rails help you to secure a load. Plus, there's a proper trailer hitch on the back that includes a trailer brake. So you can enjoy this Ford with your camper or boat, too.
The red accenting of the outside gets you ready for the well-preserved full red interior. The premium XLT Lariat feeling is inside, too. It starts with a seat finished in a comfy velour. The high back sides and fold-down armrest means this has a bucket-like level of comfort when you don't need the middle seat. You have more great features, like power windows, the factory AM/FM cassette stereo, a tilt steering column, and full gauge package w/tach. There are provisions for factory air conditioning (it will need servicing to function again.) But most days we bet you'll just love sliding the rear glass and opening up the side vent windows so that you get the kind of breeze flowing through the cab that only a classic pickup can offer.
Under the hood is a quite a tidy engine bay, and Ford's famous 5.0-liter V8 is right in the center. This came from the factory with modern electronic fuel-injection, and it's a well-maintained package, so this is a classic that still starts on the first crank. The two-speed 4x4 transfer case keeps this a truly useful pickup. But this also has an everyday kind of appeal. Power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, ABS, and modern tires make it quite a comfortable cruiser. Plus, the four-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly all the way into overdrive. And the cruise control even makes this an easy highway machine.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and original warranty card. This is the new class of classic Ford pickup that gives you vintage style and the right modern features. Call now!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
