Ford F1 351 Windsor V8 1955

General description : FRESH FRAME OFF RESTO, 351 V8, C4, R134 AC, MUSTANG II, PS, P 4WHL DISC, AWESOME

The great thing about a vintage truck is that it has all the right features for both flash and substance. This 1955 Ford F-100 is a great example with bright paint, an A/C interior, upgraded suspension, and a strong-running 351ci V8. And there are so few miles on this build that it's all presented exceptionally fresh.
The moment people catch sight of this one in the sunshine, they're going to know it's something special. The original shade of Sea Sprite Green now has a terrific luster thanks to a modern professional application of a clearcoat paint. And this is already on top of one of the best vintage pickup designs around. That curvy bodywork has a classic old pickup look that also manages to be sporty at the same time thanks to the smooth hood, large front fenders, steel running boards, and rounded rear fenders. And the way these all-line up nicely tells you someone paid attention to the bodywork during restoration. Brightwork is always a must on a '50s machine, and so you get great pieces like the mirror-like bumpers and shining trim securing the real wood truck bed. And we know you love those polished 18-inch Fosse wheels. Not only do they hint at the upgrades within, but also with the matching bed-mounded spare, it's a terrific classic twist on this modern upgrade.
The custom feeling continues the moment you open the door. The black on the seat, carpeting, and door panels feels exceptionally fresh, because there's less than 200 miles on this whole build. The dash matches the exterior color and has a clean and simple design, like a classic truck should. But as you look closer, you see a ton of great upgrades. For example, modern R134a air conditioning was cleanly installed under the dash. You'll slip behind the black and chrome steering wheel, grab the Lokar shifter, and watch the full gauge panel do its dance. So while your eyes see a vintage truck, the rest of your senses give you a tingle of performance.
Under the hood is Ford's famous 351 cubic-inch motor, and a V8 that looks this good can win awards all on its own. Smooth fender walls and a color-matched block kick off a very polished package. With the shine coming off the air topper, valve covers, alternator, pulleys, and so much more, you might need to pass out sunglasses before popping the hood at the car shows. Plus, the V8 has all the right performance upgrades, including an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, MSD ignition, and headers that feed a sweet-sounding dual exhaust. Plus, the aluminum radiator with electric fan means you can keep running cool even when the A/C is pumping. And while it will be fun to sit idle and let people listen to the rumble of the dual exhaust, this F-100 was also built for driving. It has an upgraded Mustang II-style independent front suspension with tubular A-arms, power steering, and three-speed automatic transmission. This package is finished off with a nice set of vented & slotted four-wheel disc brakes and performance tires for the best grip.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
