Ford F1 Restomod 5.3L LC9 LS 1949

General description : Description
A fully-built performance restomod with a fuel-injected V8, four-wheel disc brakes, overdrive transmission, and a full upgraded suspension is a great headline for this 1949 Ford F-1. But more than just the power to go, this truck has the slick paint and custom A/C interior to make sure it's ready to show, too.
The Ford F-1 is arguably the best-looking post-war truck. While they all have a basic industrial attractiveness, this example is a cut-above because of its sleekness. It starts with a modern black and the kind of clearcoat shine that signals this a custom machine. Even with modern flair, a proper classic American needs terrific brightwork. So you get a mirror-like bumper and grille leading the way. It makes for a nice setup continued on everything from the classic slats in the hood, to step plates on the running boards. Other classic elements like the glossy lumber on the bed floor make sure that this one gets correct the vintage elements we all love. But those headlight integrated LED parking and turn signal lights and bright dual exhaust tips instantly remind you this is restomod. And they certainly don't give Billet Specialties alloys with extra-large and meaty rear tires to a truck that's running factory power.
There's some stylish red pinstriping all over the body, and if you think that looks terrific against the black, then you're going to love the all red interior. The leather seats kick of thoughtful blend of comfort and performance. After all, you get the classic bench style, but with a sophisticated custom stitch pattern. And the fold-down center armrest gives you bucket-like comfort whenever you want. Custom door panels, nice black carpeting, a red shift boot, and detail-oriented accenting make this a true full custom setup. There's an instant feeling of a driver's pickup with the tilt steering column, Lokar shifter, upgraded pedals, and a full Classic Instruments gauge package. So this one absolutely gives you a performance tingle on its first impression. But more than just powerful, it's a thoughtful layout. The dash keeps a vintage style look, and they did a good job of integrating the right comfort upgrades like an AM/FM stereo w/iPod input and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning.
Under the hood is the unmistakable look of upgraded power. A 5.3-liter LS crate motor was part of this truck's restoration about 2k miles ago. So it not only looks fresh, but you also know it truly is barely broken in! More than just a modern motor, it has been upgraded for added performance with a dual plenum air intake, Edelbrock Pro Flo fuel injection system, Sanderson polished headers, and a Calico coated 2.5-inch X-pipe dual exhaust. As you dig deeper into this built you'll also see the right supporting pieces, like a Concept One pulley system, Edelbrock polished valve covers, and an aluminum radiator. So you have a package that's built to be both powerful and versatile. That's why it's ideally paired with a 4L65E four-speed transmission that is both stout and delvers smooth shifts all the way into overdrive. Looking at the undercarriage photos, you'll also spot a clean TCI powder coated chassis with a tubular arm independent front end, four-link rear w/track bar, and coilovers all-around. Add in power steering and Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes, and this is the powerful restomod that also provide proper control.
Complete with build receipts, this custom build combines classic looks, modern conveniences, and plenty of fuel-injected power. So if you want all eyes on you tomorrow, you need to call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
