Ford F-100 292 V8 1960

General description : BEAUTIFUL RESTORATION, 292 V8, 4 SPD MANUAL, COLD R134 AC, PS, FRONT DISCS, A+

This 1960 Ford F-100 Custom Cab strikes the perfect balance between great-looking vintage pickup and all the right modern features for cruising. After all, it mixes a cool classic two-tone presentation with a convenience of a four-speed stick-shift, front disc brakes, and even air conditioning. So the truck that you want for its style is also the one that delivers on substance.
You can tell there was a lot of time and money invested into looking this good. The two-tone Monte Carlo Red and Corinthian White is the factory-correct color combo, but it never had this kind of luster from the factory. The way these colors interweave is absolutely artful. A crease in the sheetmetal provides the main dividing line, and this a small miracle on its own, because most of these trucks were used up as workhorses. But this one is still so straight and nice that it gives a crisp break between the red and white. Plus, the red returns on the roof to help outline the desirable big rear window of this Custom Cab. The two-tone even extends into the details like the tailgate and wheels w/whitewall tire package. And speaking of details, you've got to love all the period-correct pieces like the arrow-style hood ornaments, and the glossy real wood in the truck bed as well as along the sides.
Inside, this one looks more like Thunderbird than an F-Series. The custom two-tone seats match the exterior. Plus, the door panels, dash, and even the steering wheel follows the color scheme to give this pickup a total uniform presentation that everyone loves to see. But more than just look cool, this Custom Cab knows how to stay cool thanks to modern R134a air conditioning. And you'll start to realize this is a fine place to eat away the miles as your left hand feels the power steering and your right one comfortably rest on the versatile four-speed gearstick.
Even the engine bay follows this great red and white theme. But while you marvel at how well presented the motor is – right down to the factory decal on the air cleaner – you should also take note of the power. Ford's 292 cubic-inch V8 is the exact motor you want in this truck. This Y-block's displacement was the largest Ford offered in 1960, and so you get a period-correct engine in this very vintage ride. But it's also powerful enough for you to take full advantage of the upgraded four-speed manual transmission. Out on the road, you can tell this one has been given the right investments to remain smooth. And just to make sure this is a quality driving experience all the way to the stoplight, you have a desirable front disc brake upgrade.
A great color-coordinating package that's turn-key ready to cruise in all seasons. It's hard to find this kind of packaging on a classic car – and nearly impossible to get in a classic pickup. That's why you know you need to hurry to grab this unique and comfortable Ford. Call today!!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
