Ford F-100 351 Windsor V8 1953

General description : VERY CLEAN RESTORATION W/ 351W V8, FORD AOD TRANS, PS/B W/ FRT DISC, DRIVES GR8!

A classic pickup that's received a skillful restoration is always a pleasant sight to behold. When curb appeal, interior fit and finish, and top-tier mechanical components all converge properly, awesomeness can't help but result. That's what this 1953 Ford F-100 offers. It features a killer two-tone paint job, a powerful yet very streetable drivetrain and an interior that you'll really enjoy spending time in.
With its two tone, black and silver paint scheme, this F-100 will definitely stand out in a crowd - even if that crowd includes some impressive four-wheeled members. A certain amount of restraint went along with obvious craftsmanship to create a finish that gets ever more impressive the closer you get. The way the black of the front fenders transitions into the running boards before joining the rear fenders without straying too far over other parts of the body gives the truck a very clean look. The prep work definitely went in before the paint went on, and with a nice, strong clearcoat sitting over the top, this pickup positively shines. Up front, the black of the fenders provides a great backdrop for the chrome that's on display - all of which looks to have been recently attended to and is in very nice condition. As you look at it head on, you'll see the hood aligns well with the fenders to either side and the cabin features nice, clear glass surrounded by fresh rubber seals. Aided by lowering springs both fore and aft, this Ford has a really nice stance - low, but not in asphalt scraping territory, with a tasteful, yet aggressive incline.
The interior has been thoroughly refurbished while largely retaining its original configuration, and features some nice touches. The black and silver bench seat really looks great - with only about 1,000 miles logged on this build, it hasn't seen much action, so you'll find no wrinkles or scuffs on its surface and it's very well padded and comfortable. An expanse of new-looking black carpeting runs underneath. As much as this classic is capable of drawing attention while at a standstill, it also provides a nice, comfortable driving environment that's well-suited to frequent driving while providing plenty of vintage mojo in the process. The smooth black steel of the dash area houses a very fresh-looking instrument cluster that looks every bit as sharp as it did when this '53 rolled off the line, with a Sun tach sitting just in front on the steering column to monitor revs. The bed in back looks sharp. Fresh-looking wood planks line its floor, surrounded by ramrod straight walls that show no signs of any wear.
The hood raises from the back, as if this pickup is doffing its silver cap to reveal a 351 cubic inch Windsor sitting inside one very clean engine compartment. Decked out with a distinctive Edelbrock air cleaner and a pair of Keystone valve covers, the powerplant is looking sharp, and with aftermarket heads, a hi-rise polished intake and an Edelbrock carb in tow, it's packing plenty of power. A 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission pairs up nicely with a 3.89 ratio rear end to provide strong off the line acceleration without winding highway speed revs up too far. There's quite an array of new components on board, including a new water pump, radiator, timing gears, gas tank, fuel lines, distributor and batter, so this vintage Ford also excels as far as road-readiness is concerned. Smooth power steering makes it an easy navigator as it cruises on its set of 15" Cragar wheels that are wrapped with Sigma Supreme tires up front and Goodrich T/A radials in back.
Freshly restored, and running and looking great both inside and out, this 1953 Ford F-100 is one seriously fine ride. Call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
