Ford F-150 5.0 Liter V8 1988

General description : VERY CLEAN, ORIGINAL W/ FRESH PAINT! 5.0 V8, PS/B W/ FRT DISC, A/C, PW, PL, WOW!

Freshly painted and looking its best, this 1988 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat is one impressive workhorse that stands ready to ply its trade for its next lucky owner. This pickup has seen outstanding care in the course of its life and aside from the repaint, it is an exceptionally clean survivor worthy of a serious look!
Its two tone, brown and crème paint is very fresh and besides being a freshening-up of the original color scheme this F-150 debuted with, it's also, as you might expect, given its newness, in fine form. The combination of this pickup's classic look and restored condition makes for a compelling finished result - it looks like it rolled right off a late 80's showroom straight into the present to begin its service. Both the front and rear bumpers are level and sport very unmarred chrome with the (still original) black rubber trim. The badging on all sides is on point, and even the side view mirrors and drip rails stand out due to their clean condition. The cab is surrounded by clear glass, and its sliding rear window is fully functional and features a new looking rubber seal. In back, the lift gate lines up well with the steel to each side and sports a decorative chrome panel that still has a showroom look.
When a truck has been around for three decades, no matter how well it's been cared during that time, it'll often have either a revamped interior with obvious clashes between new and old elements, or one that's still original but barely clinging to life, so this Ford's chestnut brown interior is a welcome sight. The bench seat is very clean and features a nice mix of vinyl and cloth and the dash area looks great - its original gauges are functional and readable in the instrument cluster and you won't find a single crack on the pad above. The bed area offers a lot of usable room, should this venerable truck see active duty at work sites or for weekend hauling. Its plastic bed liner has done a good job keeping any shifting cargo from extracting its toll. The F-150's elevated XLT Lariat status yields benefits as far as comfort features are concerned, so you'll find power locks, power windows, a tilt column, cruise control all on board. A Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with USB ports offers all the audio options you could want.
The fuel injected 5.0 liter V8 in the engine bay has forged a strong reputation for its durability over the years - so much so that it's been the featured powerplant in legions of restomods over the years. It's in good form and combines with a 4-speed automatic overdrive to make this pickup as well suited for the highway as it is for heavy lifting. Like most aspects of this pickup, the engine bay is unusually clean and the components inside look much like they did when it rolled off the assembly line, while the undercarriage is looking reassuringly solid. Equipped with both power steering and front power disc brakes, this impressively clean classic truck is ready for action and rolls on a set of 15" stock Ford rims, outfitted with Cooper Discover H/T tires.
Whether it's as a trusty, reliable companion at your work site, or as a sturdy hauler of your weekend gear, this 1988 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat is more than up to the task. Call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
