This particular example was made in Fords Dallas, Texas (VIN code D) assembly plant on March 1, 1957 (VIN code 1C). This handsome steed hails from dry Arizona and was a recent recipient of a full restoration with modern Ford drivetrain and drives like a dream!Dressed in Colonial White over Raven Black, the paint and trim are in overall excellent order, with only minor blemishes visible upon close inspection. The windows are clear and intact while the cars lights are in excellent order. Its bodywork is straight and solid, including the Continental kit and the rear fender skirts, the cars bumpers look fantastic, fit well to the body and there are even dual rear antennas. Its engine bay is very tidy and the cars battery looks new. This car also has a black, power-folding cloth top that is in overall very good order.This car rolls on American Classic wide whitewall tires, size P205/75R14 at all four corners. Each tire surrounds a steel wheel topped with a factory wheel cover. The tires and wheel covers are in very good order.Under the forward-hinged hood is where things get modern. A modern fuel-injected 4.6L Modular overhead cam V-8 engine replaces the cars original 292 CID V-8 engine (VIN code C) from the factory. Similarly, a Ford four-speed automatic overdrive transmission with electronic controls (AODE) takes the place of the factory transmission. There is also an electrically-operated radiator fan. The horn is inoperable but driver convenience features include vintage air-conditioning, power steering and power brakes. This 61 year old classic drives like a newer car but with way more style and grace!Inside, a black-and-white interior replaces the original. The front and rear bench seats are in overall great shape, with a few minor blemishes visible on the center of the front seat. The complementing black carpet is in very good shape, while the original, white three-spoke steering wheel is present and looks good. The cars Colonial White metal instrument panel, with its arcing speedometer, evokes the space/jet age themes trending at that time but it the HVAC panel lacks the temperature control arm. The inner door panels mimic the rest of the interiors them are in very good condition. Rounding out the interior is a factory AM radio.For 1957, a new style gave Fords a longer, wider, lower, and sleeker look with lowtailfins. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
