Ford Fairlane Town Sedan 5.0L 1955

General description : The 1955 Ford Fairlane Town Sedan has the right look for a cool classic cruiser. And when this vintage style is upgraded with a Mustang's V8 and an overdrive transmission, then you've got a great-looking classic customized to be enjoyed everywhere.
This is a stylish-looking classic. It starts with a factory-correct two-tone where the Neptune Green is sandwiched between Mountain Green. The colors were resprayed later in life to make sure that they still have a nice gloss today. Ford's stylists really defined an entire era with the full-length trim that has a dip in the driver's door, and because it's a defining line for the two-tone, it's both stylish and integral. The wide grille, wraparound chrome bumpers, Thunderbird-like tail lights, and whitewall tires all gives this a terrific 1950's authenticity. The whole package is vintage, attractive, and nothing too overly fancy that will make you afraid to drive it...and that's because you'll really see this one was made for modern driving enjoyment.
The sea of green continues inside. This is a very classic setup that looks great for vintage car fans. There are also the right investments for practical use, like newer carpeting and an added temp gauge. You'll slip behind the factory steering wheel with Ford family crest on the center horn, and the plexiglass window speedometer is another great touch of the time. So you get a true 1950s vibe from this sedan, but that changes a bit when you twist the key.
It's nice to see a Ford get an upgrade in the engine bay that still keeps the power in the blue oval family. This shining motor is a 5.0-liter V8 from a 1999 Mustang. The engine was rebuilt and done with a more classic style. It includes worthwhile upgrades like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, 12-volt electrical system, and newer wiring harness. This V8 fires up eagerly, and it makes a nice tune out of the dual exhaust w/Flowmasters. And because this now has a motor that's even better for cruising, the transmission was also upgraded to a four-speed automatic with overdrive.
Rarely do you find such a cool mix of distinctly vintage and all the right upgrades. So at a price like this, you know you need to hurry on this Ford. Call today!!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
