Here we have a 1978 Ford LTD II 4 Door Pillar Hard Top for sale. This is a gorgeous survivor piece that's showing just over 20,000 miles. A truly remarkable find, this car is just as nice as the day it was bought new. The body on this car is stunning as it doesn't show any signs of damage or abuse. Down the sides all the body lines are perfect, and the fit of all the doors, hood, and trunk are equally impressive with every gap being even and symmetrical. This car is covered in its original Dove Gray paint that still has a gorgeous finish. It's accented by the red dual accent pin stripes along with the factory Dove Gray vinyl top that's in excellent condition. All of the glass in this '78 is beautiful and shows little to now wear. Both front and rear bumpers look to be original as well and still have a brilliant shine. All the side trim is just as nice along with all the window trim. This is a stunning vehicle and as you walk around it your appreciation will only continue to grow. To finish off the look it's sitting on the 14” Wheels with Hub Caps and White Wall Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this '78. On the inside it's stunning to see something so well kept as all the interior looks to be as close to original as we have ever seen. The Russet Red color scheme is the perfect accent to the exterior combo and makes for a gorgeous vehicle inside and out. The bench seat with fold down arm rest is in phenomenal condition and rides like new. Looking at the dash we can see it shows no signs of damage or abuse and that the pad is still soft and has clearly been kept out of the sun. All the gauges look amazing along with the wood grain accent and they are working as they should. It has the original steering wheel along with the original radio. The headliner still has a phenomenal fit and all the carpet looks amazing and is not worn. Inside the trunk all looks to be factory and has the original trunk mat and spare.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Ford. Under the hood it's powered by the 302 V8 engine that is original to the car. It's a true time capsule under the hood as it looks like it would have when new in '78. As you can see from the firewall and inner fenders everything is solid and in excellent condition. The 302 is dressed in the factory valve covers and air cleaner. We can also see that it is a factory Air Condition car that is working. It also comes with Power Steering and Power Brakes with Disc on the front. When we look under this LTD II it's just as impressive as it has clearly been extremely well cared for its entire life. All of the floor pans and frame are solid and in great condition. The 302 V8 runs through the C4 Automatic Transmission and stock rear end with 2.75 gears. On the highway it runs and drives phenomenal while also handling with ease. This would be great addition to collect or cruise.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
