Schöner und seltener Mercury Meteor aus 1963 mit Ford Mustang Technik. Hier als 2 Türer Coupe, Automatik und Servolenkung. Der Mercury fährt sich einfach nur klasse, der Motor läuft demnach sehr gut, auch das Getriebe schaltet super. Der V8 Klang ist grandios und es macht richtig Spass den Motor zu starten und den Oldie zu fahren. Der Vorbesitzer hat wohl etwas Geld in die Technik investiert, von dieser Seite darf man schon sagen, der Meteor ist in einem super Zustand. Die Innenausstattung ist schön erhalten geblieben, ob noch komplett original lässt sich schwer sagen, eventuell wurde das Interieur mal erneuert. Jedenfalls macht die Innenausstattung im Gesamten einen sehr schönen Eindruck mit viel Chrom.
Die Lackierung ist bereits ziemlich alt, es gibt Patina hier und dort. Es bleibt einem selbst überlassen ob hier eine Neulackierung angedacht wird oder man aber den Wagen mit Patina fährt. Die zweite Variante ist völlig in Ordnung, es muss derzeit nichts (unbedingt) nachlackiert werden! Die Chromteile am äußeren des Fahrzeuges zeigen sich auch noch sehr schön. Ein schöner Cruiser in tollem Design aus den frühen 60ern.

Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.
In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.
In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
