Ford Model A 350 V8 Crate 1929

General description : BEAUTIFUL ALL STEEL MODEL A BUILT FOR CRUISING! 350 V8, TH350 TRANS, COLD A/C!!!

Sure, this 1929 Model A is quite a catch just based on its place in automotive history, but it happens to have a lot more going for it than just that. Thoroughly configured for modern driving, it's one rolling piece of nostalgia you can take out on the road and drive like it's a modern vehicle as you pass by admiring onlookers. Better still, it comes with build receipts, maintenance records and even a series of restoration photos, so that you can see its progress as it transitioned from a roadside find to the awesome machine it is today.
Unlike many Model A's, this one's escaped going under the knife to receive the "chop top" treatment, so it retains the look it began with nearly 90 years ago and remains all steel, fenders included. It's been fortunate on a number of fronts, not the least of which has seen it benefit from a very thorough and precise rebuild - nice tight lines and flush panels everywhere you look and doors that open and close smoothly. Speaking of doors, notice how the 4-door configuration makes it easy for your passengers to hop right into the back seat without performing any gymnastics. And make no mistake - bring this incredible machine home and you'll have no shortage of gleeful accompaniment when you choose to hit the road. It's sporting a nice green paint job - Henry Ford had famously declared that black would be the only color option with the Model T before it, but softened his stance by the time the Model A hit the market. Beyond historical significance, this is a great looking ride - you don't come across this 3-window configuration very often and it gives this car a decidedly more luxurious look than most of its counterparts.
The tan cloth interior is a great example of new materials and technology put into play while still respecting the venerable heritage of this car. The bucket seats in front and bench seat in back are far more comfortable than those this car began life with, yet they still fit in perfectly with their surroundings. Just beyond the wooden steering wheel mounted on a tilt column is a woodgrain dash that's beyond cool, fitted with a set of gold Classic Instrument gauges, a Kenwood AM/FM/CD player and a pair of perfectly fitted registers that'll help the Vintage Air climate control system keep your occupants comfortable. A clean expanse of tan carpeting runs underneath. This is a very comfortable environment for driver and passengers alike here - one that you'll really look forward to being in.
This Model A is configured for REAL driving - and NOT for holding up traffic doing 25mph in the slow lane. Prop up the hood and you'll find a Chevy 350 V8 crate engine, outfitted with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb underneath a chrome air cleaner, and capable of churning out 330 horsepower. A mild cam has been added - just enough to add a little extra firepower and a great exhaust note through its Flowmaster dual exhaust. It's paired with a 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission and, with 2.74 gears in back, so this beauty will excel on the highway. Just imagine the envious looks you'll get when you take her there! A 4-link suspension featuring all new bushings sits in back to smooth out the road and front disc brakes will provide the stopping power you'll need. This truly iconic and well-built all-time classic sits on a set of 15" American Racing Rims - 205s in front, 255s in back - wrapped in BFGoodrich T/A radials.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
