1930 Ford Model A They don’t make them like this anymore! A genuine piece of all Detroit Steel just like Henry made it. OK…maybe a few exceptional upgrades on top of that! It could have been one of the cars in “American Graffiti” with all these looks and style. It is powered by a rebuilt 286ci Ford V-8 with tri-power Stromberg carburetion over a stacked intake manifold. That connects with a dual exhaust going to the chrome tips in the rear that are positioned just right. The engine brings back the “good old days” with the Offenhauser bolted head covers and triple stainless steel header set-up standing out proud for all to see. Always have to love the sound of a flathead with that exhaust set-up…top down…shifting through the 3-speed transmission and heading on down the road. This true hot rod sits on it’s original frame, but has a dropped axle and a Halibrand quick-change rear-end with Hydroyle brakes on all four corners with Mustang 2 steering. It’s all steel body sits on a totally refurbished and painted frame supported by the classic off-set steelies and bias wide white tires. The jet black paint is exceptional with roped pin-striping and “Magic Sword” on the trunk, which also is powered to open. If the weather happens to catch you there is a like-new Hartz cloth top to catch the rain and curtains to keep it outside. While there is not much to a 1930 interior, this one has everything you need. Equipped with incredible Ultraleather for comfort and Stewart Warner gauges to tell you where everything is at as you put the car through it’s paces. It also has working turn-signals, emergency brake, seatbelts and a main battery shut-off all in the cabin. This way, when you inevitably get pulled over, you will pass muster with the policeman who just wanted to take a closer look! This is a ton of hot rod at one quarter of the cost of a ’32 built like this and the same class. It will not last long at only $33,995.00! About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.
In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.
In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
