Ford Model A 4 Cylinder 1931

General description : 1931 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan The Model A was introduced in 1927 as a follow up to the Model T's previous 18 years of success.  It proved to be just as successful with 1 million of them being sold by the time February of 1929 rolled around.  From there sales jumped even further and by 5 months later in July that number doubled to 2 million.  When production ended in 1932 nearly 5 million Model A's had been sold and it was clear automotive travel had taken the world by storm.  This 1931 Ford Model is a Tudor Sedan and is all original.  It is painted all Black and is all original rust free steel throughout.  It has its original long grain roof material and pinstriping that accents the bodylines wrapping the full length of the car.  The stock bumpers are in place and while not in perfect condition show the "survivor" quality this car has to offer.  All of the glass is in place with no cracks or issues.  Up front it has the large chrome headlights with headlight bar and all the lights are working properly.  It rides on Red painted wire wheels with Firestone bias ply tires and a factory rear mounted spare.  Lift open the steel and louvered 4 piece hood and you will reveal the factory numbers matching original 4 cylinder motor.  We can't say for a fact but based on how the car runs and drives it is very likely this motor has been overhauled in the past.  It is paired with the original 3 speed manual that shifts well.  The brakes and suspension are all the original set up and all function properly.  These Model A's are pretty straight forward and this one operates just as you would suspect.   The interior on the car has been redone and is in great shape.  It features Grey cloth upholstery and the seats, door panels, carpet, and headliner all look good.  It has dual bucket seats up front and being a sedan has a rear bench so you can cruise around with the whole family!  The dash is all original and the odometer reads 85,127 miles.  Everything is stock from the steering wheel to the floor ignition set up. This cool Model A is a smooth driving classic that is ready to roll. It is amazing to see cars that are almost a century old still around and they are only going to be harder to find as the years go on!          Pick it up while you can for only NOW REDUCED DOWN TO $16,900.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
