Ford Mustang 289 V8 1966

General description : INCREDIBLE VALUE, C-CODE 289 V8, 3 SP MANUAL, CORRECT COLORS, DRIVES FANTASTIC!!

An American classic in a distinct and well-coordinated total package that includes a V8 and stick shift. So this one gives you far more than just an iconic 1966 Ford Mustang convertible at an affordable price.
Red and black Mustangs are great, but there's something distinguishing about Springtime Yellow. It's one of those '66 factory colors you love to see simply because it's always a standout. This one particularly grabs attention because the yellow was professionally applied only a few years ago, and so you get a classic appearance with a modern clearcoat luster. Plus, this is the perfect color for the contrasting black triple-stripe on the rocker and black vinyl roof. But more than just great paint, take a look at the overall execution. The bumpers have a mirror shine; the lenses are complete and clear; and the factory hubcaps still look fantastic. It tells you that this is a respected classic that reminds us all of the days when Mustangs were instantly cherished because they were the dream car within the public's grasp.
Just like the folding roof, the black interior has the perfect contrasting shade for the exterior color. The bucket seats, door panels, and carpeting all have the feeling of freshness that suggests a nice investment. But this is far from a sea of darkness. All your favorite pieces have plenty of shine like the classic sports steering wheel, heat/defrost controls, and the correct round five-gauge full readout panel. In fact, you'll love how authentic this one is right down to the AM radio that's still cranking out the tunes.
When you open the hood, the blue on the block, valve covers, and air topper not only looks factory-correct, but also it really does radiate the V8's power from within the dark engine bay. The 289 is a great powerplant that is great for durability and strength. Best of all, you can dial in performance or economy on demand with the complete control of the three-speed manual transmission. While we like to think the GT and Shelby versions are where the Mustang grew its legend, it's really on droptops like this. The weekend warrior needed one package that provided reliable transport for the weekdays and something fun for the weekends. So this is a nicely maintained motor that fires right up and adds a little spice to a morning commute. That's really what a classic Mustang is all about.
An American legend with its factory-correct colors inside and out. This Mustang convertible is iconic, distinctive, and not going to wait long at this valve price. Call today!!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
