General description : 1983 Ford Mustang GLX Convertible LOW MILEAGE Survivor 5.0L V8 5 Speed Trans AC
Up for sale we have a 1983 Ford Mustang GLX Convertible. This is a very rare, one owner, low mileage vehicle that we bought to have never even had the top down. It comes with the warrnaty card, build sheet, window sticker, and is one of the finest examples of a GLX Convertible known to exist. Considering the Polar White, Convertible, and engine package there were just over 1,100 of these to ever be built. Add in the other options and you have a very rare survivor that is in show room condition.
The convertible made it's come back to the Mustang in '83 after 9 years of not being offered. As you can imagine the body on this car is phenomenal. It has always been well taken care of and all of the panels fit, and gaps are as close to perfect as you're going to find. The body is covered in the Polar White that's accented by the Blue Convertible Top. Taking a closer look at the paint you will be very impressed with the rich shine that it has. Now all the side molding, exterior trim, and bumpers are also in excellent condition. To finish off the look it's sitting on the stock set of 14” Wheels with the original Michelin Tires.
Naturally, with a car that has been this meticulously taken car of the inside is going to be amazing. The Academy Blue interior is the perfect accent to the exterior color scheme with the Blue Top. It does have the bucket seats and console to go with a lot of other awesome options. This '83 was ordered with the Tilt Steering Wheel that's Leather Wrapped, Cruise Control, Front Power Windows, and yes it even has Air Condition. Also, it's a Power Top car for in case you want to be the first to put the top back.
In addition to this being a convertible you'll also notice it has the GLX 5.0L package. It is the numbers matching driveline that features the 5.0L V8 engine with the factory installed Holley Four Barrel Carb. It's mated to the Five Speed Trans and 7.5” Rear end with the 3.08 Equa Lock Gears. This Mustang came factory with the Power Rack and Pinon Steering as well as the Power Brakes with Disc on the front and Drums on the Rear. Now when you get under it you're going to be very impressed how solid and original it is. All the floors and frame are in excellent condition. You'll even notice it has manifolds with the stock catalytic converter and muffler.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
