LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1995 Ford SVT Cobra R

In 1993 the special vehicle team commonly known as “SVT”, introduced the first Mustang Cobra R. With the release of the new SN95 body style, the SVT built a new 1995 Cobra R to provide licensed road racers with a homologated competition Mustang to battle Camaros and Firebirds in IMSA endurance racing. As these were intended to be race cars, all came from the factory Crystal White complemented with a Tan Cloth interior with rear seat delete, manual windows, lock delete, radio delete, and air conditioning delete. Pushing the “R” concept even further, the 1995 Cobra R was equipped with a unique 5.8L V-8. The 351 V-8 was borrowed from the F150 Lightning sport truck with the same 4.0-inch bore and 3.5 inches stroke. Due to increased compression and timing over the Lighting’s engine, the Cobra R produced 300 hp at 4800 and 365 pound-feet at 3750. At $37,599 MSRP, it was also the most expensive Mustang to date. With only 250 units produced, this limited edition track focused Mustang was a instant hit with enthusiasts and sold out immediately. While many 1995 Cobra R’s saw competition duty, others were purchased for their collectability value.
Such is the case with this Cobra R, which has been maintained in factory-original condition with only 2,050 miles traveled since new. SVT went to great lengths to produce the 1995 Cobra Rs, which were built on the strengthened SN-95 coupe chassis and made race-ready by contracted MascoTech. Outfitted with a number of off-the-shelf upgrades including GT40 cast-iron heads, SVO/Crane roller rocker arms, 5.0-liter Cobra upper intake and unique large-tube shorty headers. The drivetrain consisted of a Tremec TR-3550 5-speed, performance clutch assembly, unique driveshaft and 8.8-inch rear end with more aggressive 3.27:1 gears in a Traction-Lok differential. Other special components included a 20-gallon Fuel Safe competition fuel cell, custom radiator, Eibach springs with double-adjustable Koni struts and shocks, larger sway bars, and coolers for the oil and power steering fluid. For weight savings, the back seat, radio, fog lights, air conditioning, and power windows were deleted. Externally, the Cobra R is distinguished by its raised fiberglass hood and 17x9-inch 5-spoke wheels.
This Cobra R is a future collectible for an Ford enthusiast. It comes fully documented with Window Sticker, Build Certificate, Original Bill Of Sale, Ford Paperwork, Original Photo Of the car in the showroom, copy of MSO, Ford Warranty card and much more. With its extremely low productions numbers, original condition, low original mileage and original documentation this Cobra would be the perfect addition to any Ford collector’s garage.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
