Ford Mustang 6 Cylinder 1965

General description : GREAT ENTRY-LEVEL CLASSIC, 200 CI INLINE 6, AUTO, RUNS/DRIVES GR8, PRICED 2 MOVE

Early Mustangs are just as awesome today as they were in 1965 when Ford sold more than a million of them. Six cylinder cars like this 1965 coupe make for fantastic entry-level hobby cars simply because they're stylish, reliable, and parts are incredibly easy to get and affordable. There aren't many cars that are more beloved than the first-generation Mustang.
Wearing a recent coat of metallic blue paint, this handsome coupe looks far more expensive than it is. Judging by the condition of the undercarriage, it's quite likely that this pony is still carrying all its factory sheetmetal and that since 1965 it's led a pretty good life. Nice, straight sheetmetal got a thorough once-over to ensure that it was in good order, then the two-stage urethane went on top, giving it a bright shine. Classic first-generation Mustang details like the chrome quarter panel ornaments and Mustang emblems on the front fenders mean that it was done to factory specs and it's great to see that they didn't try to add upgrades or turn it into something it isn't. A stock "corral" lives in the grille, the bumpers are probably original and still shine up nicely, and those taillights are among the most recognizable in the entire automotive kingdom. Oh, and check out how well that trunk lid fits!
Carrying a few nice upgrades, the blue interior obviously works well with the fresh blue paint, and the hues are close enough that they don't clash in the least. Most of the parts you can see or touch are new and the result is simply splendid, with reproduction seat covers, bright carpets that haven't been baked by the sun or worn down by passengers, and door panels with correct detailing and hardware. The instrument panel is the early style with a wide speedometer flanked by auxiliary gauges on either end, all framed by a color-matched steering wheel. Cars like this were typical daily drivers for many folks, so that explains the relative lack of frills, but with a newer AM/FM/iPod stereo, upgraded speakers, and an aftermarket center console, it's ready to cruise anywhere. Even the trunk is reasonably-sized for your gear and as you can see, it's in outstanding condition with a correct reproduction mat.
Don't make the mistake of underestimating the 200 cubic inch inline-six under the hood. This engine was a mainstay of Ford products throughout the '60s for good reason: it's smooth, torquey, and quite thrifty out on the open road. In today's climate, it kind of makes sense, doesn't it? It still cruises at modern highway speeds and pulls down fuel mileage that any modern Mustang would be pleased to own. Nice and tidy under the hood, it's wearing a few chrome pieces, a rebuilt carburetor, and a fresh tune-up for reliability. It fires quickly and easily with its characteristic grumble from the single exhaust, and with the 3-speed automatic transmission, it pulls the lightweight little coupe around with aplomb. A new gas tank and correct exhaust system with transverse muffler have been recently installed, so it's ready to enjoy immediately. Flashy wire hubcaps and 185/75/14 whitewall radials complete the bright look.
No other car in the world is as beloved as Ford's pony, and you can find out why for a very reasonable price. Call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
