Ford Mustang GT 1990

General description : When a listing leads with the word 'survivor', it often includes a few caveats. Usually, the survivor in question is a 1960s or 1970s classic from the so-called Golden Age of Muscle Cars. Often, survivor means varying degrees of originality, where said car has been repainted, modified or selectively repaired. But sometimes, the term is perfectly delineated to represent a car like this crisp Mustang GT. Believed to be all-original with the exception of subtle red pinstriping, this fine Fox Body is an up-and-coming classic that's perfectly priced for an enthusiast who's looking to break big in the collector car world. Searching for some choice analog metal to preserve and enjoy? Check out this awesome Ford!
PINSTRIPED PARADIGM
Throughout the 1980s Ford worked with a new 'Aero' look that brought sharp angles, clean profiles and an array of smoother surfaces to the company's entire passenger car lineup. For the Mustang, that meant a classic 2+2 shape which rode on a whittled stance. And, although Dearborn's corporate influence was becoming more obvious, a mix of chiseled lines and aggressive bolt-ons allowed the car to keep its unique identity. Sold through Buffalo, New York's Basil Ford, this low-mileage GT was originally purchased by a General Motors employee. Apparently that employee wasn't too happy with the third gen Camaro, so he decided to buy a Mustang and enjoy it sparingly. Circa 2014, the car was passed to a second owner who, likewise, was based in New York and, likewise, fastidiously maintained his new investment. In 2016, the coupe was passed to its third and present owner who highlighted its rich Ford Black single-stage with some tasteful red tape stripes. And today, those stripes are believed to be the only modification this 4,952-mile time capsule has ever received.
5.0
In keeping with vaunted Mustang tradition, 1990's most popular engine choice was the venerable 5.0 liter Windsor V8. While this mill made its first appearance in the budget-minded Fairlane, it eventually became a trusted ally on the highway, drag strip and road course. Like the rest of this Ford, the storied powerplant is immaculately preserved, starting easily, idling smoothly and exhibiting strong acceleration. Under the car, a smooth AOD 4-speed sends power to a familiar, 8.8-inch axle, which is finished with mild, 2.73 gears and a posi-traction differential. That pumpkin pushes a factory suspension that remains completely unaltered. Factory power steering proves handy in the twisties. Standard power front disc and rear drum brakes provide competent stops. There's an original true-dual exhaust system, which stacks small catalytic converters in front of Ford-branded mufflers. And everything rolls on attractive turbine alloys, which twist vintage 225/60VR15 Goodyear Eagle VR60s.
COMFORT & CONVENIENCE
Between the doors, a handsome Ebony cloth interior offers a great balance between daily and high performance needs. Original bucket seats are firm and supportive, showing minimal overall wear. Between those seats, a slim console centers a premium Ford tape deck between recharged air conditioning and a simple shifter. The car's stylish, monochromatic dash is in great shape and free of cracks and scratches. In front of the driver, a black, Ford-branded steering wheel laps convenient Cruise Control. And factory options include power windows, power door locks and dual electric mirrors.
While this Ford might not be the rarest Mustang ever produced, time has greatly increased its exclusivity. This has to be one of the truest, lowest-mileage Fox Body Stangs in existence. Become a part of the 5.0 family, don't miss out on this awesome GT!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
