Really Impressive 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible
The next incredible muscle car in our Pleasanton showroom is this 1967 Ford Mustang 2 Door Convertible with Diamond Blue exterior paint, a matching blue power top and a blue interior. You’ll find a 289 cid V-8 “A-code” engine under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission, and this beautifully kept classic has remained highly original throughout it’s life without any significant upgrades. In fact, it’s been driven less than 9,000 miles over the past 33 years and it is ready to be enjoyed immediately.
Driven Only 9k Miles Since Restoration in 1986
The current owner of this 1967 Ford Mustang Roadster is the 2nd to enjoy it since he purchased this muscle car from the original owner back in 1986. He informs us that he was drawn to this vehicle because of its impressive originality and he rebuilt the entire drive-train to factory specifications once taking possession. Since that time, this classic has been occasionally driven to local shows or for special events and it was extensively serviced back in 2016 (carburetor, suspension, etc.) just to have it ready to enjoy at the highest possible levels. It performs at incredible levels and feels like a new muscle car on the open road.
Additionally, this 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible is a lifetime Bay Area vehicle that was built in San Jose. The physical condition is impressive with excellent body lines, great chrome and only insignificant blemishing to the paint; there is also some slight delamination to the rear glass on the power top. The original interior also looks nice in person with average levels of wear for a completely original vehicle. You will find some loose stitching in the seat bottoms and other minor issues, which the next owner can address as they see fit. In any case, this is a beautiful, high end driver that’s ready to be enjoyed immediately.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.
In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.
In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
