Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 351 V8 1970

General description : Description
This 1970 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is one of the most awesome coupes that take the most aggressive style of the snake-bitten Mustang that's presented in its correct and sinister paint. It is a detail-oriented valued classic that has also been given the right recent investments to keep it running strong.
This was the final year and final evolution for the original run of Shelby Mustangs. They remain highly collectable today because the design really brought out the aggression we all wanted from these performance-built pony cars. You immediately see it in the front end with a large overhang to hide the headlights like prying eyes. The deep chin spoiler, correct competition-style wheels, and sports stripes running the full length of the car really add to this attitude. Plus, the factory-correct Black Jade paint has the right dark and intimidating attitude. It's a later respray, and so it has a good gloss without taking away from the highly original feel of this coupe. It was the darkest GT350 color offered by the factory, but when the sunlight hits it, the green undertones really come out for a cool finish. In fact, these GT350s are known for keep their cool, literally. There's three NACA ducts on the hood, two hood heat extractors, and inlets to rush air over every single wheel/brake. The rear end has plenty of iconic pieces, too. You have sporty details, like the center-exit dual exhaust and integrated full-width rear spoiler. Plus, the sequential tail lights are a true premium touch to give this one added distinction.
One look inside, and you can tell this is a classic built for performance. After all, you get the premium high-back bucket seats with the knit pattern and a cool red racing stripe across the top. Sporty Shelby upgrades included a roll bar with shoulder harnesses, and a center console with its auxiliary gauges angled towards the driver. The optional Sport Deck rear seat even folds flat for the proper racer look. But Ford's aim in 1970 was to make sure that when their customers paid a premium for these Shelbys that they got a premium feeling, too. That's why you got the wood-like treatment in the doors and dash. And you really get to understand what these cars were all about, because this interior is quite correct and preserved.
The final evolution of the GT350 was upgraded to Ford's portent 351 cubic-inch V8. The consignor believes this is the original powerhouse, and it was even given the right investments. We have a receipt from 2020 for over $6k to have a full service shakedown with Shelby specialist at the Stephen Becker Automotive Group. This includes the brakes, exhaust, fuel pump, hoses. carb rebuild, and freeze plugs. So the mighty motor has been given proper care. The Ram Air induction hood feeds fresh air to the Holley four-barrel carburetor. And the growl of the newer stainless exhaust tells the world this is something fierce. Plus, the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and wide BF Goodrich T/As are great for all-around driving.
The sale comes complete with the Marti Report and maintenance records. It's a great dark-heart GT350 that is great for driving. So don't miss an awesome and distinct classic. Call now!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
