Ford Ranchero GT 351 Cleveland V8 1971

General description : Rare, correct, beautiful, and powerful: this highly-optioned 1971 Ford Ranchero GT looks like a long and mean muscle car from every angle (with some extra versatility in the truck bed!) So dig into everything from the Ram Air V8 to the cold A/C interior, and you'll see how this was restored to be its best.
This real-deal Ranchero GT is a true prize for muscle car collectors. The El Caminos/Chevelles looked great, but these rarer blue oval examples arguably capture the car/truck style even better. This was given the time to develop some of the most interesting body lines put to sheetmetal. For example, there's a sharp crease that starts on the front fender's overhang, and it seamlessly progresses into a wave that continues past the door. The Bright Red paint is factory-correct, but it has the telltale signs of a terrific respray. They took this one down to bare metal as part of a comprehensive restoration. And this one has a terrific look where the factory-correct black vinyl roof joins the blackout hood, hidden headlight front end, and the optional Ram Air shaker scoop to deliver an aggressive blackout against the red. They really paid attention to all the details during the restoration, so even the reflective side laser stripe was properly replaced. And not only will you love telling the story of its careful restoration, but even this Rancher's history is great. It's an original California car purchased from a dealer on Route 66. And just to make sure you can prove the cool options and cooler story, the Marti report comes with the sale.
All the black accentuating on the exterior gets you ready for the all-black interior. This has also been restored with an eye for accuracy to deliver that perfect mix of mean muscle and luxury cruiser. It feels quite comfy high-back bucket seats with optional center console for a true individual experience. The big, wide instrument panel puts all the controls right in front of the driver, and the dual spoke steering wheel feels grippy for the power steering. You have plenty of terrific vintage features, from the AM/FM stereo to the special ribbon-style tachometer. And while this originally came with factory air conditioning, it now keeps you cool running modern R134a.
When you lift the hood, the unmistakable blue block of a Ford V8 greets you. With the valve covers and air topper also dressed in bold blue, this is a true standout for its factory-correct presentation. You can tell they invested here to keep this one looking accurate, right down to the decals. This is believed to be the original 351 cubic-inch Cleveland V8. It inhales deeply with that cool Ram Air hood and rebuilt Autolite four-barrel carburetor. Plus, they really took their time restoring the motor, right down to the gaskets, seals, freeze plugs. That's why this V8 fires up with so much confidence. Plus, pretty much everything you see in the engine bay and undercarriage photos are rebuilt or correctly replaced, including the suspension components, power brake system (with front discs), and the C6 three-speed automatic transmission. That's why this one feels so solid on the road. And while there was a ton invested to get this back to factory-correct specs, there were also a few subtle upgrades. For example, the wheels look like classic Mag 500 units, but they are newer billet alloys that can accept modern performance tires.
The sale not only comes with the Marti Report, but also build receipts, maintenance records, and plenty of restoration photos. This is the cool and rare Ranchero GT restored to be an absolute stunner. Call today!!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
