Ford Ranchero 292 V8 1958

General description : Description
This 1958 Ford Ranchero might have a pickup bed in the back, but the whole vehicle is way too pretty to be hauling loads. This is a well-restored example that will make you marvel at everything from the beautiful factory two-tone paint to details like the Thunderbird script on the V8. In fact, the overall idea on this one is simple: it's an impressive year for the Ranchero, and so they made sure the full package was impressive.
1958 was a great year for the Ranchero because It carries a lot of design cues from another two-door in the Ford family: the Thunderbird. The new aggressive styling features quad headlights, and for this year only, there's bright hood scoop trim. Because this is a true 1950s machine, the amount of chrome can just about be described in acres. The front end is practically made from brightwork, so it's terrific to be putting a mirror-like face forward. The side trim package is quite stylish with the sweeping line that starts at the headlight and arches down the side until it meets up with the rear piece that's rocketing up the body. Not only does this look awesome, but also it serves as the main dividing line for the two-tone paint. The factory-correct Silverstone Blue and Raven Black were given plenty of care during the restoration, and so you have a wonderful mix of one with a beautiful metallic glow and the other has the luster of a grand piano. And everything from the factory wheel covers with whitewalls to the Ford family crest on the tailgate handle prove that this is a thoughtful classic.
The appeal of the interior is as clear as black and white...literally. The exterior black returns on the door tops, dash, and carpeting. It's now joined by white accenting in all the right places. Plus, the tweed-like cloth inserts on the seats and doors basically looks like you mixed the two colors. The knobs, dials, and brightwork give you that terrific classic car feeling. There are nice details, too, like the working heater and backlit gauges. It's a total vintage experience, right down to the factory steering wheel with Ford crest in the center. In fact, the only upgrade you'll notice is a well-integrated retro-style radio that gives you a modern digital AM/FM tuner for upgraded driving music.
Tilt the hood forward to see classic Ford V8 power. The 292 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel carburetor on top was once in the T-bird, and so we think the upgraded Thunderbird valve covers are quite cool. Plus, the big air grabber, bold blue block, and overall tidy presentation make this worthy of showing off. The V8 fires up easily like a well-respected machine should, and it makes the right low tone out of the dual exhaust. And since you'll want to take this Ranchero everywhere, there are also nice driving features like the two-speed automatic transmission and power steering. Also, don't forget to look at the fresh undercarriage. It reminds you of the total quality of the restoration as well as why this feels so solid on the road.
Here's a distinct classic with a beautiful presentation over every inch. If you want a true vintage stunner, you know you can't let this Ranchero get away. Call today!!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
