Ford Roadster 350 V8 1932

General description : Despite being best-known for their classic good looks and pure American swagger, 1930s Fords were the hot rod of choice for many a young gearhead who had a thirst for power and a need for speed. Today, spectacular blue oval resto-mods are much more common than their decades-built stature would lead you to believe. That means, to really turn heads, enthusiasts need unique cars that are exceptionally well-done. A fitting example would be this stunning drop-top. Mixing a hot rodded small block with substantial drivetrain upgrades and a comfortable custom interior, this well-built Ford is a heck of a lot more fun than a restored-to-original car. And if you're looking for a great combination of timeless style and modern performance, it's a choice classic that simply can't be beat!
BRILLIANT AESTHETICS
This awesome Ford's smooth and solid body began life as high quality fiberglass that was carefully sculpted into some of the coolest automotive curves to ever leave Dearborn, Michigan. During a detailed build, that rugged resin was sanded, married to fiberglass fenders and layered in vivid yellow 2-stage. At the front of that pigment, a pinstriped shell centers a glowing grille between a steel hood, a polished spreader and familiar Twolite headlights that feature polished casings. Those casings reflect stylish louvers, which follow more attractive pinstriping through shaved doors. Above those doors, a short windshield hangs small mirrors and wide wind wings between polished cowl lamps and Tan canvas that's sewn around a glass backlite. Opposite that canvas, steel running boards taper towards a shaved, electronically-actuated decklid. And that pinstriped lid shades a polished tag light, tear drop tail lamps, a stainless-capped fuel tank and a second polished spreader.
PROVEN POWER
Great looks are only part of this roadster's appeal: it also does a very good job of going really fast and making lots of awesome noise! Fold the car's tidy hood and you'll find a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet small block that, thanks in part to a .030 overbore, churns big horsepower into ample torque. At the top of the bright orange mill, a polished air cleaner funnels wind into a 650cfm Holley double pumper, which is seated between a Lokar throttle linkage and braided fluid lines that are leashed to a coated Holley fuel pump. Beneath that carb, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake feeds World Products Torquer heads, which balance a polished cap and a polished breather on finned and polished valve covers. A Crane hydraulic cam jolts Crane hydraulic lifters, which spike Crane roller tip rocker arms. At the back of that cam, a hot HEI distributor sparks loomed Taylor wires, which slink around coated block hugger headers. At the front of those headers, billet pulleys spin a polished alternator and polished AC compressor above an aluminum water pump. At the front of those ancillaries, a beefy Walker radiator makes excellent use of a big Permadyne puller fan. And essentials like Clevite bearings, Cloyes timing components and tough flat-top pistons ensure this spry engine is built to last!
EXCELLENT CRUISING
Every good street rod has a solid foundation. Flip this Ford upside down and you'll find a roster of mechanical improvements that mix classic looks with modern mobility. A trusted Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed utilizes a B&M Holeshot converter to spin a requisite Ford 9-inch. That smooth drivetrain pushes a triangulated 4-bar rear-clip, which follows tubular control arms with modern coil-over-shocks. Opposite that clip, an independent front-half frames two more modern coil-overs with polished Heidts control arms. Turns come courtesy of manual rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are provided by a predictable combination of discs and drums. There's a throaty exhaust system that follows Flowmaster dual-chamber mufflers with polished stainless tips. And everything hangs in a fully boxed chassis, which rides body-matched and stainless-trimmed steelies that twist 'big 'n little' BF Goodrich Momentums.
COOL COMFORT
Pop the doors and you'll find a custom Saddle interior that's warm and welcoming. A pleated leather seat surfs rich carpet that's fashioned around polished pedals, a polished e-brake, matched mats and a short Lokar shifter. In front of that seat, a body-matched dash frames most of the car's classy Stewart Warner telemetry in a centralized, engine-turned instrument panel. At the sides of that dash, more pleated leather frames polished door pulls. The driver strolls the boulevard through a polished, banjo-style steering wheel, which spins a leather-wrapped rim around a polished, tilting column. Everyone stays cool thanks to modern air conditioning. And, behind the passengers, a leather-lined trunk features a nice amount of carpeted storage space.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
