Ford Sedan 1940

General description : Looking for an incredible Ford custom? Want it in a package that doesn't require red ropes and a car bubble? Well, as the old saying goes: 'Car culture starts where the assembly line stops'. And now that more enthusiasts are starting to migrate to muscle cars, cool creations like this neat Ford sedan are becoming more exclusive and more approachable. The product of a detailed, ground-up build, this sweet street rod wraps spry Chevrolet Performance power in trick PPG two-stage that dramatically emphasizes form. And if you've always dreamed of owning a choice hot rod that's both fun and classy, it's your ticket to classic car bliss!
MAKE YOU BLUSH
A head-turning street rod that's dashed with a fair amount of muscle car swagger, this impressive Ford features a detailed, custom appearance that's highlighted by a spectacular coat of PPG Vibrance Make You Blush two-stage. That pigment wraps a solid profile that, perfected during a four year restoration that involved a six-figure check, has been lovingly massaged to form. And today, this classic rolls as one lights-out head turner that's virtually guaranteed to make you weak in the knees!
There really isn't much you can do to make an early '40s Ford more attractive. The car's streamlined styling was a homerun when originally introduced; and today, it's a stunning example of some of the strongest elements of the highly regarded Art Deco movement. At the front of this cherry custom, a smoothed bumper guards a familiar De Luxe grille, which rides between halo headlights, LED parking lamps and an elegant, 'V8' branded hood. That hood points classy stainless at opposed wipers, which clear a one-piece windshield between a filled cowl and a smoked greenhouse. Massaged doors slide one-piece glass between matted boards, shaved drip rails and simple mirrors that reflect traditional handles. And at the back of the car, a second smoothed bumper traces LED taillights, a polished trunk handle, a 'V8' branded fuel cap and sculpted quarters that are fashioned around coated exhaust tips.
MAKE YOU SMILE
Activate the massaged hood's custom latch and you'll be carried into a valley of brightwork that's surrounded by glossy PPG foothills. Sourced directly from Chevrolet Performance, this sedan's charming personality comes courtesy of 350 cubic inches of hot ZZ6 crate engine that twists stout 9.7 to 1 compression into an easy 420 horsepower and 408 lb./ft. of tire twisting torque. The mean motor's energy mixture is supplied by FAST sequential fuel injection, which hangs snazzy, red-tinged rails between a red throttle body, a billet air cleaner and a polished Racing Head Service intake. That intake feeds aluminum Fast Burn cylinder heads, which hang billet breathers and billet valve covers above a hydraulic roller cam and aluminum roller rockers. Inside the 4-bolt block, a forged and shot peened crank spins forged and powdered rods under hypereutectic pistons. A billet distributor sequences fire between a polished coil and loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. That fire is kept in check by a custom aluminum radiator, which is mated to a polished cap, a polished reservoir and opposed electric fans. A polished and red-tinged serpentine drive spins an aluminum water pump between a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor and a polished power steering pump. Spent gases cycle through coated shorty headers. And first-rate details include trick dipsticks, custom fluid reservoirs and billet Ringbrothers hood supports.
MAKE YOU LEAN
Take a long look under this classic and you'll find a roster of significant modifications that add up to impressive dynamics and big performance gains. The buff ZZ6 utilizes a dressed and shielded T56 6-speed to twist a tough Ford 9-inch. That axle pushes a world class Roadster Shop chassis, which threads adjustable Penske coil-overs through an independent front-clip and a 4-bar rear-clip. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are quick and precise thanks to monochromatic Wilwood calipers, which squeeze 20 pistons around a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Spent gases are managed by coated pipes, which make excellent use of coated MagnaFlow mufflers. Power pounds the pavement through Schott Mod 5s, which spin 225/40ZR18 Michelins and 245/40ZR20 Michelins under requisite mini tubs. And detailing is, of course, top notch, with this Ford's PPG-coated floors dotted with trusty items like stainless fluid lines, a Wilwood proportioning valve and a billet SSBC master cylinder.
MAKE YOU HAPPY
There's no shortage of street rods with custom interiors, but a classic this cool always stands out! The car's extraordinary digs kick off with modern bucket seats that are a covered in a sea of plush, two-tone leather. In front of those seats, a custom, satin-finish dash centers brushed controls for Vintage Air conditioning below red-tinged Classic Instruments telemetry and Excelon Kenwood audio that's finished with Bluetooth, Navigation and a rearview camera. A custom, leather-wrapped roll bar strings three-point harnesses between custom, satin-finish side panels. Trick billet handles slide power-operated windows toward a custom, splined headliner. Custom foot pedals front a short Long shifter, which sails premium carpet that pads a custom floor, which conceals all the car's wiring. The driver spins a polished, banjo-style steering wheel around a tilting, satin-finish column. And naturally, the passengers stow essentials in a carpeted and custom-upholstered trunk.
Fully sorted and ready to cruise, this impressive Ford is a timeless take on approachable street rodding. With great performance, a classic driving experience and killer looks, it's the kind of car that'll have you thanking yourself with every walk to the garage. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
