Ford V-8 1934

General description : As enthusiasts, we all know the true appeal of owning classic cars is expressing our own individuality through purpose-built machines that are rolling extensions of everything which defines us. And whether that means constructing a canvas from the ground up or taking a solid foundation and adding just enough detail for perfection, the hobby certainly has no shortage of ideas, inspiration or talent. Built to turn heads and drop jaws, this striking Ford roadster wraps freshly restored steel around a custom suspension, a custom leather interior and a smooth drivetrain that's lead by an exotic LT5 V8. Ready to be the center of attention wherever you go? Your classic awaits!
HENRY FORD STEEL
The beneficiary of an extensive, body-off restoration that was completed in late 2017, this Ford's smooth steel was super solid before its intricate freshening even began. Over the course of the car's detailed, nut-and-bolt build, that metal was subjected to a deep massage that culminated in a glossy coat of silky black 2-stage. All the right polished stuff is where it ought to be, from the car's sculpted grille and Ford Twolite headlights to its guarded bumpers and blue-dot taillights. A quality cloth top folds a glass backlite behind trick suicide doors and a stainless-trimmed windscreen. Colorful additions include dual horns, snazzy cowl lamps and a stainless-trimmed, continental-style spare. And it all adds up to one classy drop-top that celebrates the fusion of some of Ford's greatest design work and some of the best modern technology money can buy.
POWER BY LOTUS
At this point, vintage Fords and small block Chevrolets go together like peas and carrots. But sometimes peas and carrots, well, they just get a tad boring. That's why you add a little honey to the glaze. And this Ford's exclusive LT5 V8 certainly sweetens the pot! Originally intended as a simple set of 16-valve cylinder heads atop a basic Chevrolet small block, this all-aluminum, Lotus-engineered beast shares its basic dimensions with Chevrolet's storied small block, but exactly zero interchangeable components. The result is a 32-valve, 4-cam powerhouse that utilizes a trick dual-path induction system to create 405 horsepower and 385 lb./ft. of all-American torque. The much-lauded aluminum specialists at Mercury Marine of Stillwater, Oklahoma assembled the aesthetically pleasing mill. And when fitted under the Corvette's clamshell hood, it became an ultra-performance world record holder. Sourced from a 1993 ZR-1, this particular LT5 benefitted from a $16K overhaul that complemented fresh machine work with ported heads, a ported intake, custom cams and new JE pistons. And as you can see from our high resolution photos, the car's clean engine bay wraps body-matched 2-stage around a custom cold air intake and an aluminum radiator that's complete with an electric puller fan.
TIMELESS STYLE, MODERN MANNERS
Every good custom has a solid foundation. This classic's crisp dynamics begin with a sturdy factory frame that's been boxed, reinforced, smoothed and painted. At the center of those bones, a cooled 700R4 4-speed spins a smoothed Ford 9-inch. That axle pushes a triangulated 4-link rear-clip, which is constructed from polished control arms and adjustable coil-over-shocks. Opposite that clip, a Heidts independent front-half hangs power rack-and-pinion steering behind polished control arms and Aldan American coil-overs. That suspension stops when a polished, floor-mounted booster charges braided steel lines to clamp four polished calipers on four vented rotors. At the center of the floor, polished long-tube headers pipe charred fossils through polished pipes, a polished crossover and polished turbo mufflers. At the corners of the chassis, red spokes spin 195/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in front of 255/70R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As. And detailing is on-point, with a polished flywheel cover and a finned B&M transmission pan complementing Wilwood brake proportioning and a chromed fuel tank.
CLASSY AND TIMELESS
One of this classic's coolest assets is a thoroughly upgraded interior that, just like the rest of the car, features just the right amount of customization. Pop the doors and you're immediately greeted by a wide bench seat that's dressed in Swiss hide leather. At the front of that seat, a body-matched dash frames sedate Auto Meter telemetry. Below that dash, luxurious carpet floods polished foot pedals and a long Lokar shifter. In front of the driver, a banjo-style steering wheel spins a leather-wrapped hoop around a polished, tilting column. And behind the passengers, a rear-hinged deck blooms into a plush rumble Seat.
From its polished grille to its polished exhaust tips, this Ford is a completely sorted show stopper that's ready to hit the road today! Is there anything better than a 2-person crowd-gatherer that barks through a big V8 and stares through svelte aesthetics? We think not. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
