Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1927 Hudson Super Six 4-Door Sedan! Joseph L. Hudson had a dream to produce a quality automobile that could retail for under $1,000. In 1909 the auto manufacturer, Hudson, debuted with its first model. Hudson was on a roll until the WWII hit and like all American manufacturers ceased production. An interesting fact, Hudson made many items used in the war but very notable that they made the Invader engine that powered the landing craft onto the beaches at Normandy. With the end of the war and not far removed from the Great Depression, Hudson, started back up working to sell to a hopeful buyers' market. Even with their success on the track sales slumped and a merger with Nash only bought a few years and in 1957 the name Hudson would be no more. At least their legacy lives on through the incredible cars they made.
Here we have a 1927 Hudson Super Six 4-Door Sedan! The Super Six models were designed for comfort and performance and naturally came with Hudson's known quality and reliability. An article from 1927 is included with this car and the headline says it all. "No Difference of Opinion When Supremacy is so Outstanding." The second generation starting in 1927 received the greatest public reception in Hudson history! The blue paint is beautiful and is only accentuated by the glistening chrome. 4 suicide doors make for easy entry. The interior certainly complements the exterior and is like new condition. Slide into the seat and run your hands around the steering wheel and you'll be swept back in time! Powering this legend is the believed original F-Head 288ci Inline 6-Cylinder engine backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. This incredible combination of engineering propelled this car to set records on the track and across the country, literally! This car received a Frame-off nut and bolt restoration and drivetrain rebuilt. We believe this Super Six to be a Model O as the wheelbase is near 128 inches.
Current owner acquired her from one of our other showrooms in Texas. Comes with a Hudson Service Manual, the article from 1927 and paperwork on specifications. She is titled as a 1927 Hudson Super6. Title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now! About Hudson

Buckle up, folks, because we're about to take a thrilling ride through the incredible history of Hudson, the American automaker that roared through the golden age of cars with style, innovation, and a whole lot of spirit!

Born in the USA:
Hudson was as American as apple pie and jazz music. It rolled onto the scene in the early 1900s, right when the automobile industry was hitting its stride. From the start, Hudson was all about making cars for the everyday American, and boy, did they do it with flair!

Step On It!
Hudson was known for its performance. The Terraplane, introduced in the 1930s, became a legend for its speed and reliability. It was the kind of car that could outrun anything on the road and still have room for a family picnic in the back.

Innovators Extraordinaire:
Hudson wasn't content with just being fast; they wanted to be first. They introduced the "step-down" design in the late 1940s, making their cars lower and sleeker for better handling. It was a game-changer in the automotive world and set the bar for everyone else.

Racing Legends:
Hudson wasn't just about making cars for the street; they wanted to dominate the racetrack too. They stormed into NASCAR and became legendary for their racing successes. Drivers like Marshall Teague tore up the track, making Hudson a force to be reckoned with.

The Hudson Hornet:
When we talk about Hudson, we can't forget the Hudson Hornet. It was a true icon of the 1950s, winning countless races and stealing the hearts of car enthusiasts everywhere. That sleek, low-slung design and the unmistakable hornet emblem made it an instant classic.

End of the Road:
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Hudson merged with Nash-Kelvinator in the 1950s to form American Motors Corporation (AMC). While it marked the end of the Hudson brand, its legacy lives on in the hearts of those who remember the "Fabulous Hudson Hornet" and the roaring spirit of a true American automaker.

So, there you have it, the incredible journey of Hudson, the American underdog that roared through the automotive world with style, innovation, and a whole lot of high-spirited determination. Cheers to Hudson, a name that will forever be etched in the annals of automotive history!
