Chevrolet LUV 1.8L SOHC 4 Cylinder 1979

General description : 1979 Chevrolet Luv Truck 4x4 1.8L SOHC 4 Cylinder Four Speed Four Wheel Drive
Here we have a 1979 Chevrolet Luv Truck for sale. These trucks first became available in 1972 and became widely popular in '79. This was due to the fact of being one of the few trucks to be optioned with Four Wheel Drive and Independent Suspension. The one we have for you is in fact a 4X4 and was bought new here in East Tennessee where it has resided its entire life. When you walk around it you'll notice that all of the panels are rock solid and in great condition. Inside the bed is equally impressive as it is very solid with some minor dents from being used early on its life. All the gaps at the bed, hood, and doors are symmetrical. It's covered in the Jasmine Yellow paint that has been redone. The paint has been kept polished to a beautiful shine that looks spectacular. Up front the chrome bumper and guards are in great condition along with the grill and headlight bezels. Out back it has the painted step bumper, and the Jasmine Yellow is accented by the Black Chevrolet Script on the tail gate. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on the stock wheels that are done in White along with BF Goodrich Radial T/A White Letter Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this '79. On the inside it's done in the two-tone Saddle Colored interior that provides a beautiful compliment to the yellow exterior. Both door panels are in great condition and have the standard role down windows. The Bench seat has been recovered and is beautiful along with all the springs and padding being comfortable. This truck still has the original headliner in it that shows some age but is in phenomenal condition for its age. We can see that this Luv Truck has the Four Speed Shifter along with the 4X4 shifter in the floor. Looking at the dash it's done in black with the factory Gauges working as they should. You can see that it has clearly been cared for as they are no breaks or cracking in it.
Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevrolet. Under the hood it's powered by the 1.8L SOHC 4 Cylinder engine that's mated to the Four Speed Transmission. The engine bay looks to be as close to stock as you could ask for with everything being solid and in great condition. It's dressed in the factory valve cover and air cleaner. When you look under this truck it's rock solid and all the suspension is in excellent condition. On the highway it runs and drives just as great as it looks. The steering is responsive, and it stops with ease having front disc and rear drums.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
