For sale: Jaguar XK140 DHC MC automatic, built in early 1956 and executed in the color Sherwood Green with a green leather interior and a black mohair soft top and hood cover. The dashboard and top edges of the door panels are made of wood. This car is one of only 2,310 ex-factory left-hand drive Jaguar XK140’s ever built and was delivered to the first owner by Jaguar dealer Hornburg Sunset Boulevard USA and has in America always driven in California.
This Jaguar XK140 DHC MC is equipped with 3.4 liter 6-cylinder inline engine with C-type cylinder head (engine number is equal to the Heritage Certificate, as well as body and chassis number) and originally delivered with a 3-speed automatic gearbox. The Jaguar XK140, successor of the XK120, was introduced in 1954 and sold from 1955 to 1957. Whereas the focus of the XK120 was mainly on speed, the XK140 was built for ease of driving and comfort, including more modern shock absorbers. Because the engine in the XK140 is placed about 10 centimetres further forward, the legroom was enlarged and the car became suitable for taller people.
With the transition from the XK120 to the XK140, the characteristic lines are preserved. Jaguar built the XK140 as roadster, convertible and coupe.

About Jaguar XK140
