Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Indianapolis is proud to present this 1978 Lincoln Mark V! The Mark Series debuted in 1956 as successor to the Continental line. The Mark series would serve as the flagship car for Ford. Essentially hand-assembled these cars could pull $10,000 in 1956. $10k sounds pretty cheap for a new car but with inflation over time that money today is around $100,000! It was the most expensive American car offered at its time. The Mark series would see 7 generations spanning up until 1998. This model is a '78 and wow what a presence! The white paint looks great and has a nice luster to it. The two-tone white and brown leather interior hardly looks sat in, looks very comfortable and in nice shape. The size of these cars are large but that has the added bonus of being coupled with a nice suspension system these cars offer one of the smoothest rides you'll experience. Under the hood is a 460ci V8 and I believe '78 was the last year for this motor. Power runs down through an automatic transmission. Current owner has had her for over a year, acquired from Gateway Classic Cars. Odometer shows only 15k miles and per the owner is actual. The title supports the claim as well as the overall condition of the vehicle. The title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now! This is one of the sharpest '78 models we have seen in a time, don't let this one get away and call us today! Options on this Mark V include: A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows/Locks/Seat, Power Sunroof, Leather Interior, AM/FM Radio, Seat Belts, Alloy Wheels, and White Wall Radial Tires. About Lincoln
Lincoln, often regarded as more than just an upmarket Ford, has carved its own niche in the automotive world with a rich history and a lineup of distinctive models. Let's take a stroll down the memory lane of Lincoln's story.

Early Beginnings:

Founded in 1917 by Henry Leland, the man behind the Cadillac brand, Lincoln initially started as a luxury automobile company. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Ford Era:

In 1922, Lincoln was acquired by the Ford Motor Company, and this marked the beginning of a long association. Ford aimed to position Lincoln as its luxury division, competing with other prestigious brands in the market.

Classic Models:

Over the years, Lincoln introduced several iconic models that left a lasting impact on the automotive landscape:

Lincoln Continental: Launched in the 1940s, the Continental became an instant classic. Its elegant design and iconic suicide doors made it a symbol of luxury and sophistication.
Lincoln Town Car: Introduced in the 1980s, the Town Car became synonymous with chauffeur-driven luxury. Its spacious interior and smooth ride made it a favorite among executives and dignitaries.
Lincoln Navigator: The late '90s saw the rise of the SUV craze, and Lincoln was quick to respond with the Navigator. A full-size luxury SUV, the Navigator combined opulence with utility and became a popular choice among affluent families.
