Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this rare 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition. Conceived to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Ford Motor Company, the Diamond Jubilee Mark V was an $8,000 upgrade over the standard Continental Mark V. Practically every conceivable factory option was fitted in this limited-edition motorcar, and it's finished in Jubilee Gold: one of only 2,557 produced. This 78 Continental Mark V "Diamond Jubilee" Edition is a great survivor quality car with all features reported to be in working order except for the AC needing a recharge. Standard equipment includes color keyed moldings, vertical grill bars, bumper guards, landau top, Turbine wheels, hood ornament, and padded vinyl deck lid. Inside was more of the same with Diamond Jubilee call outs and badges in the dash and opera windows, plus a matching umbrella in the armrest. Other Jubilee distinctions included padded leather in high wear areas of the interior, as well as ebony wood inserts on the instrument panel, door trim panels, front seat backs, and console. The backs of the front seats also featured assist straps and map pockets. The carpeting on the floor was a sumptuous 36 oz. Tiffany cut pile. Also, a first for Lincoln was the now ubiquitous digital "miles to empty gauge with an on-board solid-state computer performing the math. Also included as standard equipment: Defroster Group, Garage Door Opener, Headlamp Convenience Group, Interior Light Group, Interval-Select Windshield Wipers, Power Lock Convenience Group, Power Lumbar Seat, Power Vent Windows, Right-hand Remote-Control Mirror, Speed Control, Tilt Steering Wheel, Appearance Protection Group, Illuminated Entry System, Rocker Panel Moldings, AM/FM Stereo with Quadrasonic 8-Track Tape. A 1978 Lincoln MK V Jubilee was a special ride. The most expensive American luxury car in 1978 at 20+ Thousand dollars! Add this commemorative piece of Lincoln history to your collection before it's gone!

About Lincoln
Lincoln, often regarded as more than just an upmarket Ford, has carved its own niche in the automotive world with a rich history and a lineup of distinctive models. Let's take a stroll down the memory lane of Lincoln's story.

Early Beginnings:

Founded in 1917 by Henry Leland, the man behind the Cadillac brand, Lincoln initially started as a luxury automobile company. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Ford Era:

In 1922, Lincoln was acquired by the Ford Motor Company, and this marked the beginning of a long association. Ford aimed to position Lincoln as its luxury division, competing with other prestigious brands in the market.

Classic Models:

Over the years, Lincoln introduced several iconic models that left a lasting impact on the automotive landscape:

Lincoln Continental: Launched in the 1940s, the Continental became an instant classic. Its elegant design and iconic suicide doors made it a symbol of luxury and sophistication.
Lincoln Town Car: Introduced in the 1980s, the Town Car became synonymous with chauffeur-driven luxury. Its spacious interior and smooth ride made it a favorite among executives and dignitaries.
Lincoln Navigator: The late '90s saw the rise of the SUV craze, and Lincoln was quick to respond with the Navigator. A full-size luxury SUV, the Navigator combined opulence with utility and became a popular choice among affluent families.
