Lincoln Continental 460 V8 1971

General description : BELIEVED 67K ACTUAL MILES, ORIG 460 V8, LOADED W/ AC, PS/B W/ FRT DISC AND MORE!

It's about as close as you can get to a magic carpet on wheels and comes chock-full of '70s cool. This 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III has only logged about 67,000 over the course of its more than 45 years. The curb appeal of this numbers-matching, lengthy classic is undeniable - it's also running strong and features a nostalgia-inducing quotient that's difficult to find at such a reasonable price.
The Mark III was considered the top of the class as far as personal luxury coupes were concerned and came along at a time when the term was synonymous with generous proportions. It's a great-looking car – with a long hood, spacious cabin and sizable trunk area that carries the signature Continental wheel-shaped contour. The blue metallic shade is original and, while it could use some work to get it looking its best - as you'd expect for a car of its age - you'll find no signs of serious mishaps anywhere, and the white hard top above it is in downright good condition. There's plenty more to like here - the chrome trim is also in good shape, the bumpers in front and back are straight and clean, and the doors, hood and deck lid all open and close smoothly and clear glass surrounds the cabin.
The blue interior is in really impressive condition. The split bench seats in front and back look much as they did back when they started, with their stitched emblems still visible and just a little discoloration as their only sign of wear. This is about as roomy a coupe as you'll come across, with lots of legroom in front and back and carpeting sitting below that's very much good to go as is. The factory-installed air conditioning is intact and up to the task of keeping you and your passengers comfortable. There are a number of other comfort features on board as well, including power seats, a tilt column, cruise control and power windows - though the latter will need a little attention to have them functioning at their best. In back, the trunk area is every bit as cavernous as you'd expect and a factory spare sits in plain sight on its own shelf, freeing up the floor for all the luggage you'd need for getaways.
A jumbo-sized engine compartment deserves a jumbo-sized powerplant, and the 460 cubic inch V8 sitting in this one certainly fits the bill. In spite of the big block's dimensions, there's still working room inside the shock towers - that will give you an idea of just how much room is under the hood. Due to its light usage, as well a recent tune up and a carb rebuild, it's in very good form and runs quietly even by modern standards. It carries a 4-barrel on top and pairs with a 3-speed automatic transmission for a very enjoyable driving experience. This lengthy cruiser's suspension is also in good shape and, combined with the Mark III's long wheelbase, gives the feeling of driving on a cloud. Its power steering is just as smooth and effortless as you could want, and 4-wheel power brakes, including discs in front, provide this vintage Lincoln with its stopping power as it cruises on its set of 15" stock Lincoln wheels outfitted with Hankook Optimo H724 tires.
You don't often come across classic, ready to drive Lincolns anywhere near the clean condition of this 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III at such a reasonable price. Call today!

About Lincoln
Lincoln, often regarded as more than just an upmarket Ford, has carved its own niche in the automotive world with a rich history and a lineup of distinctive models. Let's take a stroll down the memory lane of Lincoln's story.

Early Beginnings:

Founded in 1917 by Henry Leland, the man behind the Cadillac brand, Lincoln initially started as a luxury automobile company. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Ford Era:

In 1922, Lincoln was acquired by the Ford Motor Company, and this marked the beginning of a long association. Ford aimed to position Lincoln as its luxury division, competing with other prestigious brands in the market.

Classic Models:

Over the years, Lincoln introduced several iconic models that left a lasting impact on the automotive landscape:

Lincoln Continental: Launched in the 1940s, the Continental became an instant classic. Its elegant design and iconic suicide doors made it a symbol of luxury and sophistication.
Lincoln Town Car: Introduced in the 1980s, the Town Car became synonymous with chauffeur-driven luxury. Its spacious interior and smooth ride made it a favorite among executives and dignitaries.
Lincoln Navigator: The late '90s saw the rise of the SUV craze, and Lincoln was quick to respond with the Navigator. A full-size luxury SUV, the Navigator combined opulence with utility and became a popular choice among affluent families.
