Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1979 Lincoln Mark V. This was known as the largest 2 door coupe Ford ever made. This body style stayed in production from 1977 to 1979. The owner has the original window sticker. By the time the late 70's rolled around there was one thing cars had in common and that was size. Cars of that era were huge and this Mark V is a great example of a personal luxury car as the market was coined. Though you could get a Gran Prix, Cutlass or even a Thunderbird, none would come close to the Lincoln Mark V. The exterior is in good condition with no signs of rust and what appear to be the original panels and sporting the Landau roof. The 6.6L motor is in good shape, powered by an automatic transmission. This 4600 LB piece of American art looks great sitting still or cruising down highway as these old boats love to do. With the Hide-away lights and chromed out front end it is easy to see why these are in such demand. Beautiful Dove Grey color really catches the eye of people on the street. Dove Grey Leather interior brings out the landau top and ties everything together nicely. The Personal Luxury Car market is seeing a surge in sales this Mark V should be a solid investment. The odometer is showing 7300 miles and it is believed original mileage. About Lincoln
Lincoln, often regarded as more than just an upmarket Ford, has carved its own niche in the automotive world with a rich history and a lineup of distinctive models. Let's take a stroll down the memory lane of Lincoln's story.

Early Beginnings:

Founded in 1917 by Henry Leland, the man behind the Cadillac brand, Lincoln initially started as a luxury automobile company. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Ford Era:

In 1922, Lincoln was acquired by the Ford Motor Company, and this marked the beginning of a long association. Ford aimed to position Lincoln as its luxury division, competing with other prestigious brands in the market.

Classic Models:

Over the years, Lincoln introduced several iconic models that left a lasting impact on the automotive landscape:

Lincoln Continental: Launched in the 1940s, the Continental became an instant classic. Its elegant design and iconic suicide doors made it a symbol of luxury and sophistication.
Lincoln Town Car: Introduced in the 1980s, the Town Car became synonymous with chauffeur-driven luxury. Its spacious interior and smooth ride made it a favorite among executives and dignitaries.
Lincoln Navigator: The late '90s saw the rise of the SUV craze, and Lincoln was quick to respond with the Navigator. A full-size luxury SUV, the Navigator combined opulence with utility and became a popular choice among affluent families.
