1962 Mercedes-Benz 190SL (LHD)
Whilst the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing was the first Mercedes to don the SL nameplate, it arguably took 50 years for it to receive a successor which came in the form of the Mercedes-Mclaren SLR, followed by the SLS AMG. What was really the first SL which set the format for the model was the Mercedes 190SL, launched in 1955, it was an elegant 2 seater Convertible which shared the design language of its supercar brother. As a result of its pretty styling and its decent performance, the 190SL has always remained a beloved car and its success would push Mercedes to the forefront of the luxury 2-seater convertible market pretty much permanently.
Finished in an elegant Royal Blue Metallic over Cream leather colour combination, the car was restored around 20 years ago and has been carefully maintained as well as having mechanical work done over the years since. It presents and drives very well indeed and is a great example of a 190SL. Such an iconic model is not to be missed, especially when it represents such brilliant value when compared to 300SL stablemate.
