Sharing its chassis with The Colony park station wagon, the Park Lane had a 125-inch wheelbase which was 3 inches longer than the standard Mercury chassis. The Park Lane was powered by a 430 cubic-inch Ford MEL V8 engine. All Park Lanes were equipped with a 3-speed Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission. 1 of only 3,158 two-door hardtop 1958 Mercury Park Lanes, this beauty is in amazing condition inside and out. Park Lanes were set apart from lesser Mercury’s with winged front fender peak ornaments, Park Lane script on the C-pillar, chrome headlight trim and rectangular-pattern trim plates in the rear bumper pods. In 1958, automotive companies were still taking cues from airplane designs, and the “Jet Age” styled taillights show this very well.
