MotoeXotica is pleased to announce this very handsome and uncommon1967 Plymouth Fury III convertible. Chrysler intended the Fury to be a sporty premium priced model which showcased Plymouth’s unique styling and features. 1967 was the Fury’s fourth generation of production and was now offered three different equipment packages that better suited their customers financial and comfort desires. These packages ranged from Fury I to Fury III, with the first being the least expensive and least equipped and the Fury III being the most expensive and equipped. The Fury III package offered every luxury accessory that Plymouth offered; an automatic transmission, power steering, whitewall tires, stereo radio, power convertible top, and air-conditioning. Still retaining the original build sheet from the Chrysler plant in St. Louis, this Fury was originally sold in sunny California and comes with a copy of the original title as well as its California black plates!
Exterior – The light blue paint is in fantastic condition, sure to impress at any car show! Professionally repainted in 2013 in the original factory color of light blue, code DD1, this dry climate car retains all of itsoriginal sheet metal which required no cutting or patching, one of the many benefits inherent in cars from dry climates. Paint is a high quality 2 stage base/clear finish that shows extremely well.Both front and rear chrome bumpers are in great condition, as well as the other chrome trim pieces too. The white power convertible top performs its function well without hesitation, andis in great condition.
Interior –The blue vinyl seats are in very good shape with no major tears or worn spots. According to the owner, this Fury has benefited from new carpeting and seat upholsterythus resulting in a fantastic overall interior appearance. All gauges are in good working order along with the factoryA/C which blows cold.The steering wheel does have some cracking to it, but is original. Wipers, exterior lights, interior lights and horn are all in good working order. A new stereo has been installed and hidden in the glove box but also has an external jack to comply with modern music players.
Original to the car a 318 cid V8 engine with 2 barrel carb produces power to the rear wheels. Mated with the engine is the original 3-speed automatic transmission. The owner states that everything in the engine compartment is original and extremely tidy. Being a true California black plate car the underbody is dry, scale free and well preserved.Car also boasts upgradedRocket wheels and radial tires whichshow very minor signs of use, the original wheels and hubcaps will come with the car upon purchase.
This Fury is truly the definition of a show quality driver car. It is not the typical old ornamentthat has been sitting around for years and needs lots of TLC. It has actually been driven in the Power Tour, as well as several other long distance trips with no issues. Literally everything works from the wipers to power accessories as well as the factory A/C system. This is a turn key classic that simply needs a new owner.
