Simply Beautiful 1955 Pontiac Chieftain Hardtop
New to our Benicia showroom is this beautiful 1955 Pontiac Chieftain 2 Door Hardtop with Hot Red and white exterior paint along with a matching red/grey cloth interior.  You’ll find a powerful 370 cid V-8 engine under the hood with a 4-speed automatic transmission, both of which have been rebuilt within the last 5,000 miles.  This is a highly original example as well and this desirable muscle car is in outstanding overall condition both inside and out.
Just take a look through the photos to see the levels of care that this one has received- you’d be hard pressed to find a more impressive example anywhere at the current asking price.
Laser-Straight, Unblemished Body, Trim, and Chrome
The current owner of this 1955 Pontiac Chieftain Hardtop purchased it back in 2010 from the second owner after a quick test drive and absolutely falling in love with the vehicle.  He was blown away with the high levels of documentation dating back to the 50’s on this virtually complete, unmolested survivor.  While it has received a restoration since that time, he informs us that the body in particular was exceptional and you’re looking as most of the factory chrome/trim as well.  The drivetrain was upgraded in recent years to make this a more reliable driver but otherwise, this gem was an excellent find that’s going to make one lucky collector extremely happy.
In terms of its present condition, this 1955 Pontiac Chieftain has a seemingly flawless exterior with period correct knockoff wheels/hubcaps and sensational metalwork.  The interior is also exceptional with only the slightest signs of wear from occasional usage over the past decade.  The engine compartment is also nicely finished with a classic look/feel and this muscle car gets down the road in quite a hurry.  It’s as complete of an example as we’ve come across in quite some time.
An Outstanding Value at the Current Asking Price
Overall, this 1955 Pontiac Chieftain Hardtop is an investment grade classic that has absolutely everything going for it at this time. so there’s simply no way that it remains available for long at this price.  It’s a steal at this price- come in and see it today!  For more information about this vehicle, visit our Benicia, California showroom, give us a call at 707-748-4000, or email us at Sales@SpecialtySales.com.  Be sure to mention Stock # B11493 as well.

About Pontiac

Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.
Mid-Level Brand: Positioned above Chevrolet but below the more upscale divisions such as Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, Pontiac aimed to offer affordable yet sporty cars.
History and Notable Models:
Pontiac GTO (1964-1974):
Iconic Muscle Car: Considered the first true American muscle car, blending performance and style.
Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.
Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981):
Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.
Evolution: Over the years, it transitioned from a performance-oriented car to a more luxurious offering.
Pontiac Bonneville (1957-2005):
Flagship Model: Started as a full-size car, evolving into a luxurious and technologically advanced vehicle.
Innovation: Known for introducing features like fuel injection, making it a symbol of Pontiac's technological advancements.
Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
