Pontiac Firebird LS1 V8 2000

General description : This 2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans/Am WS-6 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Trans/Am has been a nameplate on the Firebird since 1969. Officially named after the racing series it was built to compete in the SCCA Trans/Am circuit, it was Firebirds pony car road course weapon. The series would end abruptly but the car would live on for decades with varying degrees of actual performance. The 90’s would see a turn to more performance oriented cars including a number of specialty cars. The WS6 is one of those cars well more of just an RPO code but for some reason it stuck. This low mileage Pewter Metallic WS6 example is a 2-owner car that has been absolutely babied its whole life. With right under 16000 miles the car has seen less than a 1000 mile a year with the remaining time being tucked away in a garage. The exterior shows its original and virtually spotless Pewter Metallic paint. The ram air hood is one of many things that make the WS6 a classic in the making. Not only does it look like its moving just sitting there it is functional. Under that hood is the revolutionary all aluminum LS1 engine that is still one of the best engines money can buy today. Of course, this car was meant for road course racing so an automatic would just not suffice for the purist. The 6-speed gear box, much like the engine, is still considered to be one of the best today. With an average MPG of 23 on the highway this car truly was way before it time. With the matching buckskin leather interior going perfectly with the exterior this truly is a one of a kind find. Take the T Tops off and go for a cruise with the wind blowing through your hair or put them back on for a hardtop look. This new age pony car does everything you want it to do while being able to take out almost any car you pull up next to. To say they don’t make them like this anymore, with its 6-speed gearbox and removable t tops, is not a far-off statement. Options on this 2 owner 2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans/Am WS6 include, AM/FM Radio with CD player, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Seats, Power Windows, Anti-Lock Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Keyless Entry, Seat Belts, Driver and Passenger Airbags, Anti-Theft System, Leather Interior, Aluminum Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans/Am WS6 can be seen, including an HD video, at http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call at 812-294-1555 or email Louisville@gatewayclassiccars.com for more information.

Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.

Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.
