Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is proud to offer this black 1999 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk. In 1991, Pontiac partnered with Street Legal Performance (SLP) to develop a special variant of the Firebird Formula, dubbed the SLP Firehawk. Firehawks were produced from 1991 through 2002, and SLP was responsible for putting the final touches on each one of them. The black paint is in very good shape, and the leather seating surfaces look virtually unused. In fact, one would be hard pressed to gauge the "cosmetic age" of the car because it has been so well cared for. The port fuel injected 5.7L LS1 V8 is backed by a 6-speed manual transmission. Its chromed aluminum wheels are wrapped by low profile performance radials which still have plenty of life left in them. Additional features and options on this slick black 1999 Pontiac Firehawk include Air Conditioning, Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/CD radio, Cruise Control, Driver and Passenger Airbags, Leather Seating, Power Antilock Brakes, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Steering, Power Windows, Radial Tires, Rear Window Defroster, Seat Belts, Spare tire and Jack, T-tops, and Tilt Wheel. These cars are getting harder to find, and Poncho aficionados will tell you that it was the Firehawk that truly marked the beginning of the modern muscle car era. If you are looking for a unique and bad to the bone "classic, yet modern" muscle car that will bring a smile to your face when you drive it, then look no further...give our Houston showroom a call today, or send us an email, and we'll help you add it to your collection!

Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.

Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.
Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981):
Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
