Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Indianapolis is proud to feature this 1965 Pontiac GTO! Dubbed “The GOAT”, The Pontiac Lemans GTO is arguably one of the greatest cars in American history and widely debated for being credited as America’s first true muscle car! With Pontiac wanting a more powerful version of the Tempest, the parent company of General Motors imposed a powerful 5.4-liter motor to give Pontiac’s A-body cars the “MUSCLE” we’ve come to know and love today. This GTO is backed by the same period correct power from the olden days but with a little extra!

Under the hood you’ll find a rebuilt 66 block Tri-Power 389 CI V8 equipped with a hydraulic cam, bringing 360 HP with THREE 2-Barrell carbs planted on the top. Behind that is the Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission with correct Hurst shifter with a new clutch. Road ready with Saf-T-Track rear running 3:55 gears, added front disc brakes with drums in the rear.

Painted in beautiful period correct “Reef Turquoise” with matching “Reef Turquoise” dawning the interior giving this car that beach boys vibe of the mid-sixties! The redline radial tires give this car that classic muscle look that GTO enthusiasts are looking for but even more than that, you’ll find it has HURST DAZZLER rims with ORIGINAL SPINNERS! A RARE commodity that’s a unicorn even at the largest of swap meets! Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of history in this ever-soaring market!

Options on this 1965 Pontiac GTO include – A/C, AM Radio, Power Brakes, Seat Belts, Radial Tires, Vinyl Interior Aluminum Alloy Wheels, Spare Tire with Jack and more!
