Pontiac Other 1936

General description : Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this STEEL BODY 1936 Pontiac 4 door Sedan. These classic sedans are great for nice long cruises, or even quick family road trips with the kids. Space is no issue even for those out there above the 6’ mark that I never quite made it too. Powering this beauty is a crate 350 CID V8 which only has around 38,000 miles on it since the rebuild. The engine is paired to a TH350 transmission that sends you through the powerband with ease. The car also features a Ford 9” rear end with sway bar, Mustang II front end with power rack and pinion, and 4-wheel disc brakes. This car was built to be a great cruiser and enjoyable for everyone. The car is painted in an eye-popping Cream Sickle Orange which is sure to turn some heads. Walking around the car you will only find its in good condition. The Butterflies are glued on in effort to keeping a clean look as there has been some slight damage to the rear but nothing major. Overall the car is a great driver and ready to be put back on the road. Poking your head inside you will see the interior has been completely restored and in great condition. The car features a tilt steering wheel, power windows, vintage A/C, and even a power pop lock fuel door. This car is a clean classic with the comforts of a few modern amenities. Please come by the showroom or give us a call and we would be happy to go over this car in more detail. Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.
Mid-Level Brand: Positioned above Chevrolet but below the more upscale divisions such as Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, Pontiac aimed to offer affordable yet sporty cars.
History and Notable Models:
Pontiac GTO (1964-1974):
Iconic Muscle Car: Considered the first true American muscle car, blending performance and style.
Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.
Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981):
Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.
Evolution: Over the years, it transitioned from a performance-oriented car to a more luxurious offering.
Pontiac Bonneville (1957-2005):

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
