Pontiac Other 350 V8 1931

General description : Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this custom "Old School Hot Rod" 1931 Pontiac two door sedan. Can you imagine cruising down the street in this chopped and lowered hotrod? When walking around this sharp '31 Hotrod you instantly notice that the top has been chopped by 4 inches and the rear fenders have been widened for an aggressive curb appeal. The paint is two tone black with Flat black and separated by a gray stripe. The Crager wheels have been offset by the tire sizes for the classic hotrod stance. When you hop inside the white vinyl interior with gray inserts will leave you breathless. This car also features a CD player and upgraded sound system with removable rear speakers, so you can really jam at car shows or drown out the roar of the engine if need be. This '31 also has a GM tilt steering wheel and Hurst automatic shifter on the floor. Powered by a 350 V8 engine and Turbo 350 automatic transmission, this car really moves and has tons of life left in it with only 18k miles since its restoration. Geared to 3.23 with a Chevrolet rear end, this car can be taken on the highway and driven to the car shows. It also sounds mean with its duel exhaust that stylishly peaks out of the rear bumper. Options on this '31 hotrod include; Cd player, power steering, tilt wheel, vinyl interior, racing wheels, Speedway 6 inch drop straight axle, and Fender draglink streering. Do not let this sharp piece of GM history pass you by! Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.
Mid-Level Brand: Positioned above Chevrolet but below the more upscale divisions such as Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, Pontiac aimed to offer affordable yet sporty cars.
History and Notable Models:
Pontiac GTO (1964-1974):
Iconic Muscle Car: Considered the first true American muscle car, blending performance and style.
Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.
Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981):
Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Pontiac Bonneville (1957-2005):

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
