Description : Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1977 Pontiac Trans Am! Wearing white over red, this bird is ready to party! You can proudly showcase this at any car show, and lead the car cruise pack!

For many there is a greater appreciation for the car that get's driven more so than the garage princess that only sits pretty. This vehicle, quite obviously, has been driven and tastefully enjoyed. The seller reports that the engine was replaced about four years ago with an engine from a Firebird. Upon writing no invoices were supplied for this work.

Running and driving the vehicle appears to have everything in place. The engine sounds healthy, and the transmission shifts nicely. Under hood options include power steering, power brakes, and the AC appears to have been deleted making it prime for a R-134 conversion.

The undercarriage shows surface corrosion on the uncoated and uncovered metals - something one cannot avoid without covering up metal with undercoating. The interior is in good shape and shows very well in person. Some of the hard plastics appear to be original with some scuffing and scratches, but the seat material and headliner do not appear to be original and seem to be in good shape. An aftermarket radio was installed making connectivity and usability quite a bit easier.

The gauges all seem to work except for the volt gauge. We are excited to present this vehicle in this stunning white over black and timeless looks that kill!

Position in GM Hierarchy:

Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.
Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981):
Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
