Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this mint 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 convertible. LS1 V8 powered Firebirds and Camaros gained legend status when they debuted in 1998. But for many the pinnacle of 4th gen F-bodies was the 325hp, WS6 Firebirds. Whether it be a Formula or a Trans Am, once that WS6 option was checked all the desirable go fast goodies were unlocked. Stiffer and more responsive suspension, a higher horsepower engine, bigger 17" wheels, and finally, the awesome, angry looking, functional Ram Air hood! This black beauty is a great example of a well maintained new-era muscle. The car runs and drives like new. It's even squeak and rattle free - an uncommon thing for a 20-year-old F-body. All 325 ponies are front and center when the pedal is mashed. The brakes and suspension are responsive and immediate in operation. The aggressive looks are enhanced by 17" chrome Corvette wheels. Finally, an optional Hurst shifter makes the T-56, 6-speed transmission a pleasure to use. The AC blows cold, and the power seats and all accessories work as designed. The car still has it's 3-piece tonneau cover - to streamline it's top-down looks. This 3-owner WS6 Trans Am convertible was clearly babied and well maintained over the past 22 years. If you've been waiting for a Trans Am that still present and drives like new, this is the one for you!

Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.
Mid-Level Brand: Positioned above Chevrolet but below the more upscale divisions such as Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, Pontiac aimed to offer affordable yet sporty cars.

Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Pontiac Bonneville (1957-2005):

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
