This '97 Trans Am remains pretty much stock with the LT1 5.7 liter under the hood and 4l60e 4 speed automatic transmission backing it. If you are looking for a ride like this, it will be difficult to find one cleaner or better taken car of. I believe the term is pride of ownership and you can see that in this car anywhere you look. With a car like this you get all the fun along with the creature comforts to enjoy, all the convenience of A/C, power windows and traction control and luxuries like leather interior, t-tops and CD player as well as all the power that the LT1 350 cubic inch GM small block can push out, all wrapped up in a light weight body. If you read that last sentence and thought, gee that sounds like a Corvette, you would not be the first to draw that comparison. I tend to like the Trans Am better with the back seat to help keep insurance rates lower and a hatch that holds hundreds of dollars' worth of groceries and the horsepower to bet them home before the ice cream melts.
